Actual dates for X & yet another Setpoint design

We chatted with the engineer for X today and got some interesting information like exactly when it will open.
We also have information on a simular design that Setpoint is ready to build.

Hey, we worked hard for this information (backache like never before).
I wouldn't normally plug our site so shamelessly but I feel the IAAPA convention is a worthy exception.

Are you able to release the exact opening date?  Can you at least tell us what the purpose of the November 19th media event is?  And are you sure it is this monday?  when and where will it be if so?
What I have been saying all along. X will open MUCH sooner than the naysayers could have thought before they started running their mouths.  ;)
Much sooner? Don't you mean much later? :x
No, sooner.  People were talking about next summer.

This ride was designed and built EXTREMELY fast.  Magic Mountain expected too much from Arrow.  They are extremely excited about this ride.
They never should have included it on their 2001 lineup. Any idiot could see that! But this is SFMM were talking about.  ;)

Now I feel bad for Arrow, everyone thinks it's there fault that X isnt opening soon. First of all, it is a prototype, and second, was only working on it for 5 months before they started to build X. Now the blame is on SFMM, why did they say "This Spring" or " Coming Soon" when they knew that Arrow would need a lot of time to work out all of the bugs.
Jeremy, can you answer my questions?

and DWeaver, I mean late considering it was suppose to open "mid summer"....But I'm not complaining by any means, I work @ SFMM!  =)

Oh yeah, your right.

Hey PxpxPunkrawker, how long have you worked at SFMM, I worked there two years ago.

PxPxPunKrAwKeR-

The engineer said he had just found out there was a press event on the 19'th and he'd be heading to MM asap when the convention was over.  I can only assume he was referring to Nov 19'th.  At worst case it is December as he said he felt confident the ride would be open with a month.  He gave me some other dates but I'd rather stick with what I've said so far.  Nothing is official at this point but they felt really good about everything.

X was originally going to be built for 2002, but Arrow claimed that they were ready this year, so SFMM went ahead and announced it...so the blame should be on Arrow.

Mayday - Memorial Day Weekend - Nonpoint, Nickelback, Oleander, Staind
Ozzfest - June 8 - Drowning Pool, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Black Sabbath
Awake Tour- June 15 - Darwin's Waiting Room, Puddle of Mudd, Deftones, Godsmack

Jeremy, while I'm sure you're proud of the content you've obtained from IAAPA, posting multiple links to it in different topics is pushing the definition of "spam".  We DO have handy ways to submit News and Sites here already.  Thanks.

Also, Setpoint's Siezmic isn't exactly "new" -- they were showing it off last year as well.  The looping variant MAY be new, though, I don't recall hearing them talk about loops previously.

Please... hold on to the old news and stop with rumor mongering and senseless speculation.

Seizmic is last year's news and Over the Top is this year's news (see our IAAPA section). In fact, most of the "news" people keep talking about on a lot of sites is last year's news. Sorry folks, but there isn't that much interesting to see this year.

Did you even read our interview with Arrow's CEO? He said the 4th Dimension concept has been under development for years. This wasn't a rush job. Don't make crap up.

And yeah, that's spamming. Six different instances I counted already. If you want to launch a site and get traffic, pay for it yourself like I did instead of spamming my site.

DWeaver, I've worked @ SFMM since monday =)
I would hate to blast the creator of such a fantastic website but give me a break Jeff.   Do I totally believe this guy??? NO.....but could there some truth in what he says......I think there's a good chance.

As far as X, it was done very fast, far faster than most other projects.

FB: Arrow engineers have been developing the concept for the 4th Dimension for several years. It was in the summer of 2000 that Gary Story recognized the uniqueness and the huge potential of the 4th Dimension and gave Arrow the order to develop the prototype. We have some very talented engineers who were able to move the project from concept stage to X at Magic Mountain in a very short period of time.

Lets see, one summer ago is when they began to develop the prototype......from initial design of X's layout to the more difficult part of getting everything working.  I would say, and your interview backs this up, that it is a very short period of time.   Maybe you should take the time to read it again.   Who is to blame for the misleading opening date??? I dont' know, and I dont' really care.   I look forward to the ride opening.   And I have a feeling that this guy has some credit to his story.   Or unless it is the Coasterbuzz interview, is it worthless rumors???

As far as promoting his site......I think I would do it the same way this guy did.   Hell, no one would see that he had posted anything new if he had just put the link up.  And I myself would like to see a little more of the convention.  All there seems to be here is a few pictures, a few interviews, and some vague descriptions of what people are announcing there.

But I forgot, Jeff knows all and is better than other buzzers.  He wonders why some dont' want to pay to use his site, maybe cuz he seems to put down  most of the posters he disagrees with rather than just reading on and ignoring people's opinions he doesn't agree with.   I know the only reason I came to this site in the first place, is cuz another went under.

Jeff, you've never attacked me, but I get tired of reading your posts attacking other enthusiasts.....I thought you were supposed to enjoy talking about coasters, including speculation.   Guess not!

First of all I thought this was a member driven website.  I have no problem keeping my info to myself.
My sole purpose was to offer what I thought to be interesting information whether it was outdated or not.  I doubt anyone would abandon your website because I linked to a few photos.  I had no intention of stealing your traffic and I apologize if that seemed to be my purpose.
Anything I posted came directly from the ride designers.  If they weren't telling the truth then that's a shame, it isn't my fault however.
Anyway goodluck with your site.
