Acreage of CP

This is not a "CP doesnt have a space problem" topic. What I would like to know is the acreage for the amusement park part of CP. Only the area with the rides, shows, midways, etc.

I am curious because people keep stating that CP is 364 acres which is pretty big but that obviously covers everything (waterpark, hotels, campground, etc.).

I don't know the statistic you are looking for, but I'd bet at some point in the future that mostly all 364 acres will be fair game for having rides installed on it. I don't believe that there is any sort of space problem to speak of...perhaps some space challenges - b/c they will have to use their space wisely and maybe adjust some of things as we know them today.
The parking lot is 64 1/2 acres, but I'm not sure about the other resorts. I'm sure you could readily find what Soak City and Challenge Park take up.

CP's parking lot really isnt all that big compared to other parks is it? Im pretty sure PKI has a much bigger parking lot or maybe its just decieving. Just a thought, probably been brought up before but people always talk about how they could expand into the parking lot. Well what if they were to build a few parking garages to make up for the lost room just like Universal. Just a thought and that would be even more of a nightmare to get out of at the end of a day though.

Yes PKI's parking lot is much bigger at about 100 acres. Secondly CP DOESN'T have a space problem. The problem with build parking garages is not the traffic flow its the cost. They cost five times as much or more than a regular parking lot. Universal built the garages because real estate is very expensive and they didn't have lot of space. Also I think Universal's garages are set up very easy for traffic to get in and out of them without traffic jams.

Universal's garages are one of the models for all other parking garages right now. At work, I was doing a parking study for the project I was on and got to do some research on thsoe garages (Tried to con them into paying for an "educational" trip to IoA ... didn't work :( ) and they are amazing in their traffic flow. But, they require a lot more staff to direct said traffic (the garages aren't set up to be completely independant) and yes, they are expensive. They also might require even more cost to "northern" them due to the large amounts of concrete used that doesn't do as well in freeze/thaw conditions that are out on the peninsula that aren't in Florida. But, the increase in parking area available is absolutely amazing.

If CP were to install similar garages, they would have to probably double their current parking staff, and it would be as much of a capital investment as a coaster. But, they could probably double their parking space with about 60-70% space reduction with that kind of an improvement, and possibly the increased entrance fees and food/souvenier costs from expansion could justify something like that, but hey we all know Cedar Point Does Not Have A Space ProblemTM so, its a moot point right? ;)
