ACE Publications

Are the publications worth $50? ($65 for couples) When I first heard of the club I thought the events were free. (but I was dead wrong.) I didn't know the $50/$65 is ONLY for publications.

The publications are great. I have read through them numerous times. But I'm not sure the publications themselves are worth the $50 but If you attend the events it will pay off.

"enough is enough"-?

Most of the events are free. Special events such as CoasterCon cost money. Like coastermaster said, the publications are worth the $50 alone.

Actually, I can't think of one ACE event that was
free over the last 10 years. They all have registration fees as far as I know. The ACE Conferences (2-3 days usually) are about $50-$65 and the ACE Convention (about 5.5 days) has been running about $125-140 I believe. The local ACE days have a great range in costs, but I do think there may have been at least one local ACE day that was free.

Ted

The only ACE day I can think of that was free is the one at Lake Winnie this past summer..

The only beef I have with the ACE publications is they always get to me pretty late. But, they are excellent reading nontheless.

Hmmm, I thought Media Days and such counted as events...

Thanks, I'm glad I'm getting it for Christmas. It's a funny story why I know. My mom was like "Kevin, how do you work the fax?". Computer illiterate.

I've been in for 10 or 12 years, and feel the $ I spend on ACE and the ECC is well worth it for the mags. (Especially before the net!)

One of the advantages is that you too can become a TV star. When one of the famous Discovery Channel film crews do a shoot, often the park contacts the ACE rep for the area and the call goes out for bodies. We've gotten in to Magic Mountain numorous times for tv shoots, then they cut us loose in the park.
I wouldn't be able to watch myself on TV (NO CABLE!!!)
