Accomodations Question For Geauga Lake

I suggest Priceline.com for hotels, if you don't mind not knowing where you are staying until after you are charged. I generally use them for most of my hotel needs, and I can usually get a lower price through them than through other sites. During peak times though, you may not always get a better rate.

From Streetsboro, at least, the signs are obvious enough. Take 43 up into Aurora and you're there!

I have stayed at the Motel 6 in Macedonia. Not too bad.

Since the CF takeover, a LOT of new signs have been put up directing towards Geauga Lake.

I don't like Warrensville hts at all.
I've gone through solon a zillion times and had no problem. as far as speed traps are concerned, look out for Oakwood village. That place is bad news.

Any place in Ohio is a speed trap. I would not of acquired three speeding tickets in a year if it wasn't true. :-D The "back roads" to CP are especially dangerous. ;-)

<-----who just received her 4th in WV of all places.

ah, WV... Went thru there on I77 last summer.
the only freeway i've ever seen where you go from 70 mph to 35 w/no warning at all.
i got the old: "son, this here's West Virginie. We can do what we want w/out signs."
I thought i was gonna get killed when my youngest pulled a Cartman, yelling: YOU WILL RESPECT MY AUTHORITAY!!!

Sorry , but there are now signs everywhere pointing to geauga lake. Your thinking of the transition before they had them up. I can assure you, I was there on october 30 and 31 and stayed in their hotel. even through august, I noticed plenty of new signs on the way up. I saw many new signs to get you there. Believe me, there will be plenty of signage when the park opens this year. Also you'll probably see billboards promoting the park as well.
Coming from a 8 year resident, Streetsboro is the BEST bet:

**Streetsboro has the best prices, safest area, most variety, only 10 minutes from park.

**Its a straight shot down Route 43 north, no turns. (Very easy directions)

**Its right off the turnpike and I-480.

If you DO get lost, there are plenty of signs to guide you, they have done an excellent job decorating Aurora and Streetsboro with Geauga Lake signs.

Well if you're driving there from CP, then that's really convenient because you've got turnpike most of the way "home" from CP. Just be sure to take U.S. 6 east from the park to Rye Beach Rd., then get on S.R. 2 east to S.R. 57 south. The turnpike is a block up from there. (What I'm getting at is don't take U.S. 250 from the park to get to the turnpike, because that's way out of the way.)

Jeff, why are you giving away my secrets? ;).

Best way to get to the park from Cedar Point, if you are staying in or near Solon is to follow Jeff's directions, but take the first exit off the turnpike to I-480, which you take to US422 into Solon From Solon, follow the signs.

The toll will only be $0.50!
