Accomodations for guest error

Not that far. But the manufacturer should know that some shorter people are going to get in and thus should provide for this.

Texas Coasters... wow I'm lucky... IM me if you feel like talking about coasters.

I'm going to agree with Dan to a point--

Ride restraints are intended first of all to give you an inducement to stay where you're supposed to be, and to give you something to hold on to. Second, they are intended to prevent you from accidentally leaving the ride.

If the ride is able to throw a rider who is able to fasten the restraint, then there is clearly a design problem. Period.

But I am less willing to crucify the manufacturer if getting flung from the ride requires the rider to do something foolish first.

Pity that in the case of the most recent Intamin incident we may never know how it happened...

If the belt fit and the bar was down then she shouldn't off fell out Intamin is at fault by my book and the ride should be design for everyone to ride not just skinny teenagers.

According to reports, the restraints did NOT fit the woman. They said she was too large for them to close properly. Therefore, it was the ride op's responsibility and the woman's responsibility. Not Intamin's.

And as for your "skinny teenager" comment. I am neither skinny nor a teenager....but I can fit any ride there is because I'm not morbidly obese either. There IS a middle ground, you know.

Actually, yes we do remove shoes alot...we remove them if they are walking on heels, seem to have something in the shoes, or have really thick heeled shoes. We require them to switch with a parent for the measurement process, and there are no exceptions to the rule.

As for the skinny teenager thing, the people who can't fit into the PT (There is probably one in 200 guests who can't fit) can only find themselves at fault. These people are unhealthy and obese. There is no way that they can wake up in the morning, look in the mirror, and think anything but "I've got to do something about this problem." I don't understand it. While there are physical conditions, there are also cures for them. However, the majority is simply people who eat too much and don't exercise, and I don't blame S&S for that.

LOL! In the engineering world, it kinda goes like this...
