AAA Home&Away Magazine features Thrills!

While staying with some relatives in Illinois, a magazine with Boss enthralling the cover caught my eye. The magazine is called Home&Away; it’s a publication by the AAA-Chicago Motor Club for Illinois and N. Indiana. If you can get your hands on one of these, go for it!

Inside it features a listing of the major parks in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. There are plenty of photos of the attractions, including Holiday World's newest ZOOMbabwe and CP's Wicked Twister.

Just thought I'd give it a nice shout out, it’s definitely a great addition to the magazine rack of an enthusiast :).

I got that today as well.

You know the photo of V2? That's from SFGAm's PR photo CD. Know what's cropped out from the bottom of the photo? A big "S" logo. ;) What ride do you suppose it really is?

....can we assume Kara that you know an enthusiast whose room is presently "adorned" with said magazine....;).....good work!

BTW, Jeff I actually prefer V2 over S:UE....I guess the longer straight section made me feel the spped more....not that SF marketing plays the "which ride is which" game in their promotional materials....;).....

Also, a properly (over)loaded boat on ZOOMBabwe is the wettest ride anywhere...

Westways, the southern california AAA magazine also has stuff about theme parks all the time. I know the DCA opening had a 6 page article and knotts was once profiled. AAA of southern california hates SFMM though. only knotts, DL, seaworld, and most likely Legoland and DCA have the AAA seal of approval. It's like SFMM being a hotel with no stars and the rest having diamond ratings.
Is zoombabwe one of those family raft rides? the one in Soak City Usa San Diego seriously is a white knuckle ride. The raft goes a foot over the walls on the turns and the raft is bent like a tipped over U

It's a family raft ride....AND it's a dark ride...AND as Will Koch pointed out, it's a water-coaster ride....:). Yes, it's fast, and it gives AIR, but it's can't hang out over the sides 'cause it's completely ENCLOSED.....

HW has another hit on their hands!!!

Home & Away is actually distributed to AAA members throughout the Midwest (their circulation is 3.2 million). If you want to read the article, go to www.homeandawaymagazine.com -- it doesn't include all the photos, but the text is there.

Thanks! Paula

They also made the dubious mistake of referring to WT as "the Wicked Twister." For some reason, adding that extra article to a coaster name sets my teeth on edge.

Good travel article though. I got mine in the mail after two of my employees brought theirs into my office for me. I didn't realize that I made my hobby so obvious/annoying to my employees...oops.
