A Very Young RCT Fan

I had to pass this along because I am still stunned...My 6 year old daughter loves coasters as much as me. Since she is still too little to ride most of them, I try to find ways she can still enjoy them. I gave her Forest Frontiers and saved it under her name. I went over the basics, then let her go. Last night, I checked on her, and she had built a custom woodie that actually worked!! Mind you the intensity was 15, excitement was 2, and nausea was 9, but the peeps were riding it!!! Also, her queue line stretched *miles* around the park....but I was VERY proud of her work. Her name is Ashley, so we named her coaster "The Ashinator". We should be proud of all of the little Jr. engineers out there! *** This post was edited by Lorrie on 12/7/2000. ***
Isn't it amazing that our obsession with coasters starts at a very early age? I think I was around her age when I became hooked after my first ride on a kiddie coaster. Only I didn't have the fun of having a computer game like RCT, as that was way before Atari was even a concept!!

I remember my coaster obsession started WAY before I even would ride one. When I was little I would use blocks, cars, and anything I could find to make amusements in my room lol. I would go to Paramount's Carowinds with my family and do all the kids stuff and just watch the coasters. But then when the Hurler opened I rode it for my first "big" coaster. And the rest is history...

And how long did it take me to figure the game out?

I have a 3 year old brother and RCT is the only game he plays. Even though some of his coasters do not work, I am just as proud of him, like Lorrie and her daugther.{He created a mini cobra roll with a half corkscrew and barrel roll then half corkscrew and barrel roll!}
My friends 6 year old brother is almost as good at the game than me and I have had every scenario without any trainers for a long time!!!

Six Flags Great America #1 Park!!!
i think your skill level in rct depends on how much you are into roller coasters, not intelligence. i have a friend that is really bright and he is horrible at rct. coincidentally he isnt very fond of coasters

#1 Coaster-Incredible Hulk
Good, my brother will take affter me!
My 7 year old has developed an interest in RCT as well. He's been obsessed over coasters ever since he was dragged on the suspended Ninja (which he loved!) at Six Flags Magic Mountain. And after that, has been spending a lot of time playing RCT. He seems to have more interest in building water-based type attractions, but he still is interested in coasters. He built a nice, fully-functional Steel Twister, named "Kiki", after his cat, which had scratched him earlier in the day. *** This post was edited by Screamer on 1/3/2001. ***
I got my 8 year old nephen hooked on RCT too. He has lots of parks going. when he was up over christmas I gave him some pointers. now his park are looking much better. he doesn't understand physics, so most of the hills on his coasters have lift hills. it is actually kind of funny.

You guys must have really well-adjusted kids. The 12-year-old I know plays the game so he can kill the guests. He's especially fond of drowning them, although he also likes letting them drop underground or trapping them in pits. Think I should suggest he see a psychologist? =)
Males in the age range from 10-13 years of age seem to have an obsession with hurting things. If he doesn't grow out of the stage then I would seek help.
