A variety of rides opening in Europe in 2002

While AIR, Colossus, Goliath and Silver Star have dominated the headlines, there are many other rides opening in Europe this year that are worth a look:

  • Bellewarde Park will open seven new kiddy rides while re-theming the existing Pepinoland kid’s area. The new rides are the Froghopper, Looney Tooter, Mini Jet, Big Foot, Crazy Bus, mini Ferris Wheel and Samba Balloon.
  • Drayton Manor will debut the wild Maelstrom, one of the first installations of an Intamin gyro-swing.
  • Denmark’s Legoland will introduce X-Treme Racers, a wild mouse coaster much like the one at Legoland California.
  • Also from Lego is the company’s fourth park, Legoland Deutschland. The German park will open with many rides and attractions, including the Lego Technic wild mouse coaster, The Dragon family coaster and the Jungle X-pedition log flume.
  • Liseberg will open two new rides this year: Kulingen, a swinging flat ride, and SpinRock, a Zamperla Discovery.
  • Pleasureland Southport will blast guests high in the sky on the Space Shot, a 125-foot tall S&S Power space shot.
  • Walibi Aquitaine, a member of the Six Flags European division, will add the Zigzag wild mouse coaster.
  • And Warner Brothers Movie World Germany will unveil The Wild Bunch, a 200 foot-tall Intamin stand-up gyro-drop.
Awsome. It is good to see more than just the parks that are putting in big coasters get some recignition. Amusment parks are not all just big coasters after all(even though I am sure most of us would rather have them be).

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

And also, Djurs Sommerland is getting a Gerstlauer Wild Mouse, Thor's Hammer. It's a clone from the Trippsdrill Gesengte Sau (sp??) but it looks like a great layout. Visit the parks homesite for some pics and a vid http://www.djurssommerland.dk/sw96.asp

It's all in danish but if you click on some of the icons you may find them... I have some heavy problems with my connection now so i can't guide you on which icons you should click on.

Good Luck :)

Pleasureland's new tower ride is a double shot, despite it being called Space Shot!

And dont forget about all this

Disney Studios(Next to DLP) A Brand New Park opening up next to DLP in France, It has also opened with a coaster similar to Rock N Roller Coaster

Warner Brothers Movie World(Madrid) This looks like a very exciting park to visit, It has just OFFICALLY opened too, and looks to be one of the best European Parks ever. It will open with a B&M Floorless, A B&M Inverted, A Huge Woodie, A DeJa Vu clone named Twister, and 1-2 more coasters including a Tom and Jerry's Kids Coaster. It will also have a Log Ride, A Top Spin, and a few more exciting stuff.

And this is only the beginning, 2003 promises to be just as good for Europe as well if things go perfectly. WATCH THIS SPACE as they say

I really want to go on a coaster trip to Europe. Their coasters look awesome.

I can't think of a good signature.

wild bunch is not sure
people around the park have complained about the freefall tower because it spoils there view
(not to far from the park are factory's with smoke stacks about 2ce as high as the wild buch tower, did they complain over that ? NO, its all about $$$) construction has been stopped, until a solution is found
