Saturday, April 6, 2002 12:02 PM
Ive read some reports about Tomb raider and it soun ds great!!!! Ive heard people say that the ride itself is a "Giant Top Spin". Is this true???? Who makes that kind of ride and where are their other examples of that type of ride??? What parks and what do they call it??? I know alot about coasters but not alot about pther types of rides as i dont ride thme often.

I heard it was great too and yes its a top spin. I'm not sure who made TR:TR. But another smaller top spin at SFWoA (Texas Twister) was built by Huss....i think.

Yes, it's a Huss Giant Top Spin. Example of the ride can be found on the Huss website at: http://www.hussrides.com

Hope that helps.

it's a huss giant top spin. i've rode it 2 times now and honestly it's the best nonrollercoaster ride i think i've been on yet. it doesn't make you sick really at all. the only thing i can think of that i enjoyed more might be the mountain slidewinder at dollywood.

I'm glad it's getting good reviews, I might actually ride it now. I am not a fan of top spins but the way TR:TR is turning out to be then I will probably try it out.

Oneof my friends who rode it last night told me she didnt like it. And she is a coaster enthusiast. But, I myself want to ride it just to see if I like it. I am not one to take other people's opinions on something.

"One of my friends who rode it last night told me she didnt like it. And she is a coaster enthusiast."

The fact that she is a coaster enthusiast is probably WHY she did not like it. It is not a coaster ;-)

Don't take others opinions. Ride it and form your own. People love to bestow sour grapes on new ride openings. Really the positive remarks I have heard far outweigh/outnumber the negative.

I rode it two times today and it was a lot of fun. The only thing I can say they could do to improve it is make it longer. If you go expecting a wild Top Spin ride you will be dissappointed. The ride is heavily themed and even the motion is calculated to be in synch with the the effects. It's good ... it's just not "wide open wild".

I just got back from PKI, we went opening day and today. Yesterday we had to wait about 2 hours for TR:TR and it was well worth it. I think it did live up to the hype. Today we got the first ride front row center with the ACE walk-back and it was just incredable there. PKI has a very very great new ride on there hands there. The themeing was great as well. The ride feels short but I believe it is a little over two minutes.

I just added that she is an enthusiast because we (all the enthusiasts) sometimes have same opinions. Just sometimes though. But, as soon as I can go to PKI, I will go and ride it. But with school..work...a several hour (I think about 6) drive...not going to happen right now.
