The park treats you like family and they treat their coasters with a ton-o TLC, and it shows. Once night falls Raven and Legend take on a life of their own, growing faster and faster out there in the dark Indiana woods. I can't count the number of times I've thought "WOW...that just cannot get any faster!" only to ride again and feel that it WAS! You'll get a work out, too. You will leave the park with the most wonderful exhaustion you've ever felt...almost post-coital, if you know what I mean.
The park has a ton of charm, some great flat rides, and the friendliest employees you'll ever meet. They actually have to bid to work SRM because they have as almost as much fun as we do! You won't find any of the ops pushing down on your lap bar, either! 2 clicks? You bet!
So if you've never been to Holiday World or SRM, come this year. You won't be disappointed.

The added bonus is that the park is located near several other parks (SFStL, IB, SFKK, PKI, Americana (Opening again this year!!!!!)) and thus it's easy to turn it into a nice looong weekend of coaster riding bliss.

Last year the announcement of Pat's cancer.
By the way, how's she doing? I haven't heard much recently.
Thanks for asking...
Mrs. Koch had a rough summer with all the chemo and radiation. In late July, she developed an infection and nearly died. Things were looking very bad.
On August 3rd (coincidentally the park's anniversary), she had the third part of her treatment--surgery. The next day, the surgeon told her she was "every surgeon's nightmare." Turns out when he opened her up, everything looked great--no cancer, no radiation burns, no scarring! The surgeon thought he'd made a mistake and had gone looking in the wrong part of her...
She had a marvelous month -- including her 70th birthday. Then, sadly, on September 17, her husband (whom she called "the love of my life") passed away at age 86. We miss him every day.
To look at her, you'd never know the challenges that 2001 brought. Her follow-up exam a few months ago got her an A+.
Miracles really do happen. :)
Have a great weekend! Paula
