A possible location for the Whizzer.(if removed)

My daughter and I finally made a pilgrimage up to Little-A-Merrick-A in Wisconsin. At the end of the day I was introduced to Darrell Klompmaker who is the park manager. We got to discussing a variety of things in the amusement park industry. In case some of you arent aware, this is the guy who was trying to bring the Lincoln Park Comet over to this park.

He mentioned the Whizzer to me and said that when he heard of the news that SFGAm was going to tear it down, he contacted the park and stated that he was interested in buying the Whizzer for his small Wisconsin Park. He even sent them a "Letter of Intent".

Well, obviously this isnt going to happen now, and he was happy that it was staying because that is where it belongs. Just thought I would share with everyone that if the Whizzer went down as planned it very well could have ended up operating at this small, quaint, amusement park in the Cheese state.

I will touch base on the latest of the Lincoln Park Comet story in another post.

Ric Flair was hitting on the female host, he told her - "Space Mountain may be the oldest ride in the park, but it has the longest line." WOOOOO!

Excellent. Thanks for sharing that with us! If the time comes for it to be removed, I'm glad it will likely get a new home. (Even better that it's not too far away)

Here's hoping about the comet!

Does he want to purchase ShockWave?

Would you??? :)
Yes ;-)
A coaster like this is exactly what Lakeside needs. Either that, or a Galaxi coaster, or a wodie.

IF...Shockwave goes (and it's not to the Scrapheap Challenge competitors), it'll be to another SF park....any park would be lucky to get Whizzer, although it'd take years for it to become half the setting where it rcurrently resides....and BELONGS....(if Whizzer does go sometime, how about WA?)....;)
It would have been great to see the Whizzer go to a small family park like that. I myself (a Wisconsiner) would like to see Little-A-Merrick-A grow into a popular theme park.

Mike, why would someone want to purchase something that isn't nessisarily going anywhere?

When it was announced Whizzer was comming down, I was hoping some park in Wisconsin would buy it. Fortunatly, it wont be moving, even if it does mean it won't be a few miles closer to me.

Good point TRBiggar, I completly forgot that its removal are RUMORS!

Usually, when the lift chain is CLEARLY NOT there, it means something is up. A real coaster's lift chain is not like the one on your Screamin' Serpent that goes in in 5 minutes. A real coaster's chain needs to be put on with a crane and takes a whole day.

Hey Chitown how about mentioning Thunder Eagle to that guy It's not as old as he Comet and is probably in better shape as it hasn't been SNBO as long But if he's set on the Comet best of luck to him I hope he gets it

How can ANYONE say the chain of Shockwave is gone? Please... You can only see the chain from on the ground right next to the lift (where park guests and almost all employees do not go) and from the front seat of the ride. Obviously you didn't see the chain off when you were on it, and it's highly unlikely you were at the base of the lift or on the stairs of it. You may be able to see it from Sky Trek Tower at the top, and I've seen a very recent (less than 2 weeks, post-SBNO status) photo of the ride from there. For what it's worth, it looks like there is a chain on it.

This no-chain-on-Shockwave-BS is just that. BS. Don't belive everything you read. If that means you don't belive this, so be it.

Lastly, you cannot say "CLEARLY NOT" when you can't even CLEARLY see it when it's on.

John, they thought about the Whalom Comet (much like the Thunder Eagle) but decided the Lincoln Comet is the better ride. I say good luck and a perfect choice :)

If you would actually look at the top, you can see where it's supposed to go over the gear at the top . You can CLEARLY see it when it's on. Right now, you can CLEARLY see that it is NOT there. I don't believe everything I read. I read your post and don't believe a word of it. I do believe everything I see, and what I see is NO CHAIN.
