A Park to Visit

Raging Bull is still fun, but in it's first couple years of operation the trim on the third hill didn't hit, at least not noticeably, and you got GREAT air over that crest. Now, the train barely, and I mean barely creeps over the crest. Also the MCBR used to be near-off, to the point where you wouldn't even feel it. Now it slows the train down considerably and reduces intensity and airtime on the second half of the ride.

I still rode it over 100 times last year and continue to hit it this year, but it's definetely a slower, less-intense ride than it used to be before all the ridiculous, unnecessary brakes were set.

One thing that will always be great about the ride is the first drop in row 9...extreme ejector, probably the best first drop I've ever been on.

There are definitely famiy-oriented hypercoasters and there are definitely non-family-oriented hypercoasters. The first three B&Ms are pretty cool to bring the family on (Nitro might be a little bit edgier though, although you'll never hear me admit it outloud after riding it:)). Steel Force at Dorney is a great family hypercoaster because it's essentially an overgrown minetrain.

Hypercoasters I wouldn't say are so family-friendly are S:ROS at SFNE due to it being way too intense for some people and ditto Phantom's Revenge. My co-worker, who was younger than me and and an adrenaline junkie in his own right, did not handle PR well at all. He almost passed out using the urinal afterwards he told me.

Chaindog, I get what you're saying, but as you said, as long as you run everything to the fullest, it'll get you by. We were just at Beastbuzz with 36,000 or more people, and we still only waited around 45 minutes for the Italian Job. As long as you have plenty of rides, with enough workers doing their job well, it should work out ok. *** Edited 6/28/2006 5:10:29 AM UTC by Intamin Fan***
