A New B&M For The New "Ireland"?

I was just reading a *rumor* that BGW is putting in a B&M floorless in their new Ireland section of the park that debuts in 2001. This actually makes alot of sense. BGW is due for a new coaster. (Alpengeist was 1997 and Apollo's Chariot was 1999. The next logical year would be 2001.) Ireland seems to be a big deal to BGW, therefore they probably would put in a new coaster. I have also read somewhere that BGW has a contract with B&M for a certain number of coasters. I don't want to get my hopes up, but has anyone else heard this, and does anyone else agree with my logic? *** This post was edited by Lorrie on 12/6/2000. ***
Before Ireland was announced, the popular rumor was for a dive machine in the area around LNM. BGW will not just add another ride, that's the quality park that has learned from Drachen Fire.

I can assure you there are no contracts (such rumors are invented by enthusiasts who think they're "in the know"). Still, they've got four winners between the two parks, so if they're going to build another one, why not B&M. The thing is, it won't be this year, I don't think.

Wouldn't the terrain be really cool though for a dive machine?

Jeff, you are correct, the next coaster will be a B&M, except that if they could ever keep carpenters longer than a year or two, the next ride would be a mid-sized woodie in New France. You didn't hear that from me. If you email me, I will tell you the 'official' update on DF.
Yes, from what I heard (damn, I say that too much. I feel like such a rumor mill :)), the next coaster at BGW will be a B&M prototype of some sort, similar to Hulk. Just a tid bit of info I picked up. Obviously, I won't believe it until something more concrete comes up, but I felt like I'd throw it out there.

You realize that this is for the other 'favorite park topics', but I would visit that park if they did not have any coasters. That park is beautiful.
You work for Bush, Jhonson? Also, a "dive machine" or a floorless would be great, as would a CCI or a GCI.

Everybody calm down, the coasters do not open for another fifteen minutes.
I think B&M has a 3 or 4 coaster contract with BGW. There have been rumors that Drachen Fire will be replaced with a Floorless.

Let me just stress that contracts among Coaster companies and amusement parks are as rare as a tan Irish man.

I have no idea where these rumors about "coaster contracts" got started, but generally a park plans three years in advance and contact the companies that they need for those three years. And that's it.

It wouldn't make any sense for a park to sign a long term contract with a company because things can change with demographics in ten years. So, it wouldn't make any sense for companies to get involved in a long term, multi ride, multi-million dollar contract with a ride manufacturer. There's just so many things that can go wrong for both companies (the park and the ride manufacturer.)

Businesses always try to strive for win-win situations and when there's a possibility of lose-lose, they'll balk 9 times out of 10.

I agree that the contract idea does sound like too much of a committment for a park to make, but I also think that parks and manufacturers can develop a good working relationship. If you have had success in the past, as BGW has had with it's B&M coasters, it sounds reasonable that they would go that route again. Money should not be the first priority when choosing a manufacturer. A proven track record should be at the top of the list.
Sure, I completely I agree Lorrie. If they have a good working relationship with a company then it'd be in the amusement park's best interests, probably, to keep on working with that park.
