A few questions about Cedar Fair

I am doing a biography/timeline of Cedar Fair for a project in school, and need a little information to make it complete. This is what I have so far-

Went public on the stock market in 1987.

Bought Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom in 1992

Bought Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun in 1995

Bought Knotts Berry Farm in 1997

Bought and transformed White Water Canyon into Knott's Soak City in 1999.

Built Knotts Soak City next to Knott's Berry Farm in 2000.

Bought Michigan's Adventure in 2001.

Bought and transformed Oasis Water Park into Knott's Soak City in 2001.

This is just the bare essentials, also plan to include each major ride for each of the parks in the timeline. I just wanted to make sure this information is 100% correct, or if you think I should add anything.

They didn't buy Knott's Camp Snoopy @ The Mall of America. That came with the acquisition of Knott's Berry Farm in December of 1997. I mean, think about it, they're both Knott's grounds.
They operate, but do not own Camp Snoopy. What that means, I don't know exactly.
Valleyfair has to come in there somewhere. The company was just originally Cedar Point. It became Cedar Fair when they aquired Valleyfair. Cedar Point plus Valley Fair equals Cedar Fair. Also Cedar Fair did not buy Cedar Point. Cedar fair is the holding company.

my understanding of it is that the comapny formed as a limited partnership when the owners of CP aquired Vallyfair! Hence the name CEDAR FAIR. They speak of it in the book "Cedar Point: The Queen of American Watering Places" written by David Francis. It's been a while since i've read it so i don't remember the details.

Okay, thanks guys. I was obviously misinformed. I know now after reading here and looking around elsewhere, that Cedar Fair only manages Camp Snoopy and that Cedar Fair was created when Cedar Point bought Valleyfair. Is this now correct? And if so what year did that occur? I may post my full report tomorrow after I finish typing it.

I believe Cedar Point and Valley Fair merged resulting in Cedar Fair.
No Merger, Cedar Point bought Valley fair and a new holding company was formed to oversee both of them, Cedar Fair, but make no mistake the poeple who run Cedar Fair are also the head people at Cedar Point.
