A few IAAPA notes

I thought I'd take a quick moment to leave a few impressions from the show floor...

Generally speaking, if you've been to one of these, you've been to most. It appears as though they have not sold as much floor space, as the corners seem a bit empty. The outdoor attraction count is the lowest I've ever seen it. Hard to believe they used to use the Georgia Dome.

There are more booth babes this year than I've ever seen. I bring it up only because Zamperla hired a bunch in "lifeguard" outfits to help sell their new stand-up surf board style ride, built apparently on the Disk-O platform. We watched in horror as some suit tried to grind up against the girls, and frankly it was embarassing. (Good ride, by the way.)

The big stand out was a new unit from Moser Rides, which is essentially a Top Spin for two that you control. A stick causes the rotation in varying degrees, and the button on top is the brake. It's a little awkward to push it all the way forward, but if you get the physics of a Top Spin, you can do some absolutely sick tricks with it. I want one. In my back yard!

Dippin' Dots are just Dippin' Dots Ice Cream now. They're no longer the ice cream of the future.

I would imagine most conferences are well down on exhibitors in this financial climate

I knew the future would have to arrive eventually.

Since the Dippin Dots are no longer from the future, I guess fanboys will have to get a new source for all their predictions... ;)

MiniMelts, believe it or not, are better than Dippin' Dots.

Did Dippin' Dots become the future, or did the future become Dippin' Dots?

You'll get those about the same time hell freezes over or I get my work truck back from the shop. (It's been down for a month and Ryder STILL can't figure out the problem!)

Those items have been prototyped and built, but until people stop being idiots, we'll never own one.

I dont need a flying car

I dont need a jet-pack

I just want my hoverboard, its slightly more then 6 years before 2015, if those things will be mainstream by then, the prototypes should be hitting the market real soon.

ROTFL!!! I would have loved to witness that. One of my favorite things about night clubs is that me and my contingents get a kick out of watching people dance.
