A blast from the past...

How the blazes did you find that? They must've been talking about X-flight.

Wow, a lot of familiar names from 2000 :)

Certain victory.

why are there always these rumors about non-paramount parks getting "flying" coasters?? It's not going to happen, and if it does it will only be in a paramount park. I personally don't think the flying coasters are anything that special to begin with and will probably end up fading away anyway

Wow! Haha!

Wow, there are a lot of names I haven't seen in a long time. Whatever happened to John Peck? I haven't seen Brad (Arrow Guy) post on here in a long time either.

The funny thing at the time is that there was a known contract with Paramount Parks, who subsidized the R&D for Vekoma's ride. What we didn't know was that Paramount said "one is enough."

Someone told me X-Flight/Firehawk originally slated for Kings Island. It finally got there in a round about way.

Jason, I can semi-confirm that. There was a video floating around that had aired on TV talking about Stealth and that two more rides of the same type were in development, one for Kings Island and the other I'm thinking was either Carowinds or Kings Dominion.

Funny how that all worked out.

I was thinking the same thing. Both him and his brother (B&M Guy) used to post here all the time.

Certain victory.

^ I'll have to let him know you guys said that, I was talking to "Arrow Guy" last night via cell phone, we used to be roomies, you know!

Dang... look at some of those posts I made back then... It's pretty funny on what some of those employees had told me as far as rumors went.I remember how I used to post on here all the time, now I'll get one or two in a month if I'm lucky.

I didn't go anywhere, but having a house and a wife takes up a lot more of my time.

You know something else: as much crap that I took for sticking up for Double Loop, the people saddened by its destruction this week really showed how many people cared about that ride.

Poor Geauga.. it will be in my heart forever.

lol I was way too passionate about rides back then.......good lord. Good to see you guys too. :) Don't post like I used to. Guess other things took priority. I still want a piece of Double Loop though. Anyone know where that sign went? :D

And X-Hawk definitely turned out better than I expected. KI did a great job with it. I have a feeling I'll be hitting the Island a lot in the next couple years....can't wait for '09.

It's also been a couple years since I did an enthusiast event. I remember in 2000 through 2002 I was doing probally a good 3 or 4 a year.

Maybe I'll make a better effort to get back into the swing of things soon.

Wow. Looks like Paramount made the right decision skipping out on the v2.0 Vekoma flyers. From what I understand, those things were a huge bust.
