80 degrees for...Maybe 5 feet?

Dammit Maddie. Stop making so much sense.

For a case in point of Olsor's most recent point, anyone who's ridden PR and S:RoS SFNE can tell you that, while the drops are nearly the same in height (and I would imagine pretty close in angle) the slow pull-in at the top of S:RoS's keeps your butt off the seat for quite a while, whereas PR's quick dip into a straight drop gives you a decent pop at the top and nothing for most of the length.

Plus if MF went quickly into its drop it would look stupid.

Wow... everyone said everything already... :(

So much for those classes I'm taking... Who wants to start a company with me? We could give Gravity Group a run for it money ;)

This is your life, and it's ending one minute at a time.

Legendary: Think of it this way, at the top of the lift hill the track is level, it doesn't make any difference what the slope was going up to get the there. The only difference between lifts is how fast the train is going when its center of gravity passes over the top. On some chains, it's real slow, only 3-5 mph. On MF you are really moving at 13-14 mph.

I don't entirely buy that Jim. The rear of the train can sill be on the up-slope when the force of gravity takes over.

I mean, if you imagine a coaster that goes right off the lift into a vertical dive very quickly, the back of the train will greatly be affected by the angle of the lift.

If you want something where you just whip over the top of the lift and into the drop (albeit it's not a large one) then ride in the back row on Corckscrew, that was one of the biggest surprises of my recent trip there. It still had a good 5-10 feet of track to go up and it started picking up speed from the front of the train going over the top already, by the time it hit the top of the hill I was getting some airtime, and that effect lasted for most of the drop.
