I will try to keep this as brief as possible. There is a lot to cover!
6/8/00- PKI
Arrived at 9 a.m. so not to miss the ACE walkback. There were about 12 Acers here this morning. We were advised at 9:30 that Sonny doesn't "usually open until around 1:00" so we will get first ride on The Beast. As we walk back I notice a train stopped on the lift were it was no doubt parked the night before. When we get to the station we are given the "bad" news, The Beast will be opening late this morning. This set the tone for the rest of the day! We got first ride on Vortex, not what I was looking for. The whole purpose of this visit was to finally get on Sonny. We finally did. My thrill seeking 7 year old daughter and I got in line at 1:10 and started up the lift hill at 3:00. The ride was incredibly ROUGH. I have heard so much about how smooth this ride is, IT ISN'T !!! My daughter's only description of the ride was the blur of colors she saw, just colors because it was so rough you couldn't even focus! The train "bucked" like it was trying to lift itself off the track through most of the first helix section. They still have many bugs to work out of this one. I wouldn't be surprised to see it close for a while to resolve them. Got three rides on The Beast throughout the day with about a 20 minute wait and spent some time at the water park. PKI has the very best waterpark of any park we have been to! We got in numerous rides on most of the coasters, the crowd was light here today.
Left about 7 p.m. and headed south for Kentucky.
6/9/00- SF Kentucky Kingdom.
Arrived at the park at 10. Rode the Hellivator first before it grew a line. Much like Pitfall at Kennywood. We rode their new Roadrunner wild mouse coaster next. Pretty fun little ride, very small footprint. Every park can squeeze one of these in somewhere! Rode Chang next, front seat. Very nice ride, not as rough as Mantis. They also have the best souvenirs of any park( Six Flags could learn a lesson or two here as far as merchandising goes). The park closed at 7 this night so we headed west again.
6/10/00 SF St. Louis
Hit the park at 10 a.m., big Saturday crowd.
The Boss looks huge from the parking lot!!
We rode Ninja first, fairly smooth corkscrew type looper. River King Mine Ride was next, slow for a mine ride. Screamin' Eagle was next. This was overall a good ride with decent air. It was longer than I expected. I'm guessing it was a great ride when it was run at full potential...
Only waited 40 minutes for The Boss. This is an incredible ride!!! Very intense. the ride gives what I call Forced air time on the second little dip after the first drop and I do mean forced. The ride packs a lot of speed and a great helix ending.
Next to Mr. Freeze. "Cool" station with a neat 2 train loading platform to keep the lines moving. Freeze was smoother than I expected. The horse collars have very thick, very soft padding. Nice touch!! It's worth the wait for the front on this one.
Last, but certainly not least, Batman The Ride. This by far is the most elaborately themed ride I have hit. The whole area of the park puts you right in the middle of Gothem city. Very well done!!! The ride is just as incredible, very fast, very tight. This is another one worth waiting for the front.
We left the park around 3 ( thunderstorms moved in). I really wanted another ride on The Boss because once just isn't going to do, but it will have to be another time. We pull out and head west again.
-On a side note-
While traveling west towards Oklahoma, we spotted two peices of B&M coaster track on the back of a semi in a weigh station. The track was brownish in color and from what I have heard is headed for Branson????( any insight???)

We didn't get here till early afternoon and arrived to a fairly small crowd .
This park is visually awesome! It's set right in the middle of a huge quarry with rock walls surronding it on three sides. These walls play well into the coaster layouts as well...
First off Boomerango-SFO Minderaser clone again.
Road Runner Express was next. This is a very fast paced mine type coaster, big drop and fast turns.
The Rattler was somewhat of a disappointment for me. Everything I have read and heard about this ride just put my expectations too high I guess? It looks so fierce and probably was at one time, but has been tamed way down I'm guessing ??? I did enjoy it though.( I pretty much enjoy them all )
My let down with Rattler was quickly uplifted when we got our first ride on Superman-Krypton Coaster. My second "floorless". This ride was better than Batman at SFO simply because of it's layout. The lift takes you on top the quarry wall, drops you back down through the first loop and then back up top the rock wall for a tight little banked helix. From there it's plunges back down where the rest of the ride elements are similar to SFO-BKF.Excellent ride! Again being Tuesday with the threat of rain it was like the coaster Gods opened this ride just for us, many front/back seat spins on this one !!!
Jokers Revenge is best discribed as being somewhat like the Corkscrew at CP but the trains run facing backwards ! Fun ride and much smoother than I expected.
Last here was Poltergeist. Launch type ride very similar to OL-FoF at PKI only this one is not enclosed. This ride is much smoother than FoF but seamed much slower. Maybe because it's not in the dark ??? Horse collars on this one had the same soft, thick cushions found on the Mr. Freeze rides.Nice touch, no headaches here...

Nice report! But I just want to say one thing. The T2 isnt a clone of Serial Thriller. The T2 came out earlier. The Serial thriller is the clone.
BEAST - That was quite an endurance marathon. You drove further one way on your trip that I did the whole time I was up in Ohio and PA, and I put 1,600 miles on our rental.
Glad to see you had a good time at my home park, SFoT. That Runaway Mountain is a wild ride for such a small coaster, eh. I agree, the Mine Train is great. I think it was Arrow's first mine train coaster as well.
Superman Krypton Coaster has got to be the best coaster in San Antonio. That quarry really does add some nice effects to their coasters.
Sorry to hear Astroworld was such a bummer. I'd like to hear your thoughts on Taz's Texas Tornado at Astroworld.

BACKSEAT - The Texas Tornado is a Schwarzkopf looper with 4 inversions. It has a first drop that curves back under itself for a very steep first drop. The unusual thing about this ride is it is set up like a carnival ride. It has wood between it's feet and the ground and you can see it move and lift in different places...fairly fast ride with a lot of positive G's. This may be the most thrilling ride at the park.
RCFAN 13 - Oops, got them switched around. I think they are identical except the last banked turn on T2 seamed to be banked more. Don't know for sure.
Well this is from what I have saw. Last time I rode T2 it felt just the same as Serial thriller. May be a diffrence though. Sorry if I sounded rude. :)
