OK, I know this is a somewhat old topic but I was trying to access www.StanLee.net to get more info about 7th Portal but the page isn't there. Does anyone know what's happened to the site and/or have any info about this ride?

thx

Its a motion simulator ride, where you wear 3d glasses. The seat that you sit in moves to the action going on, on the screen. The 7th portal is a superhero themed short movie. Its worth checking out, I enjoyed it, especially the part with the saw in your face. *** This post was edited by hothitz on 4/13/2001. ***

Stan Lee's organization is currently going through some financial troubles, so I'm not surprised if there are problems with the web site.

7th Portal is one of this year's features in the Action FX Theater (Ijerks motion simulator) replacing the three(?) year old James Bond feature. The big difference with 7th Portal is that it's in 3D, which really helps the overall experience. The ride system is still the same old "wigglin' couches". The 3D aspect is effective, but could be better if your seat wasn't moving all over the place :) Also being computer rendered doesn't hurt. As far as a story, it's your basic good guys vs. bad guys saga. Overall, it's a step in the right direction and I'd like to see Paramount pick up more of these 3D simulator features.

all about PKI
the Beasts` Den
BANG! BANG! Sorry PKI FREAK. I don't think you'll get much agreement on that one. I thought 007 was 10x better than Days of Thunder and now 7th Portall 10x better than 007. Hopefully, they'll give us something equally as amusing with Smash Factory.(Thanks Paramount for taking the extra mile and adding a second film)

Hee Hee! Paramount did not create smash factory, and it is a relitively old simulator that i have ridden. You are in this car with a crazy driver who escapes an insane asylum and you ride through an odd factory with spikes, jumps, and a hammer which punds you through the floor to the basement, when you eventually make it back to the starting point. fun ride, but nowhere NEAR as good as 7th portal, which in my opinion is the greatist simulator i have ever been on. :)
How's does this compare with other simulators like Disney's Star Wars or Universal's Back To The Future?

I don't think it's fair to compare it to Spiderman; or is it?

You could compare it to the screen shots in 3-D of Spiderman, but the experience on each is completely different as 7th Portal is a motion theatre. As in the seats move but the room doesn't. It's a big room though.

Saw 7th Portal today for the first time. I think it is the best motion theatre film that I have seen.
All I can say is that 7th Portal is *AWESOME*!!!

OMG - I can't believe that Paramount actually paid attention to the sucky James Bond and hired Stan Lee to do 7th Portal...

It's worth the 1 hour wait at Carowinds!

On a rather busy day at Kings Dominion it was almost a walk in.
And a walk-on at PKI.
