7th and 8th mix soundtracks

I ordered these two import CDs from eBay last month and have been listening to them a lot. Here's my reviews:

7th mix: This is a great CD. There is a lot of music on here that's exclusive to 7th mix, so many people may not have heard it, let alone played it.

I especially like Look at Us, Trance de Janiero, Nothing Gonna Stop and Stay (not the Extreme version) - all in 7th mix only.

It also has a bunch of more familiar songs like Tsugaru, Kakumei, Waka Laka, Breakdown!, The Whistle Song and Maxx Unlimited. And, it has most of the Nonstop Megamix remixes of older songs. It's got a ton of music altogether... more than 45 tracks.

My only complaint is that the second CD (the nonstop megamix) just blends together the songs without adding anything, unlike the 6th mix soundtrack, which featured second verses and new material. Also, where is Burning Heat?

8th Mix: I would not recommend picking up this soundtrack. While there are a lot of great songs on Extreme, it seems they picked mostly the bad ones for this soundtrack, which is quite short compared to 7th mix.

The only good songs on here are Frozen Ray, Sync, Stoic, V, Vanity Angel and Irresistiblement. Most of the songs included here are crap, like the Queen covers, Graduation, etc. There's no Sakura, Heaven is..., Mikeneko Rock, Twinbee, Across the Nightmare, 321 Stars, Xenon, etc. Why include both Paranoia Survivor and Paranoia Survivor Max? They sound almost identical. And Trip Machine Survivor, while fun to play, is just noise mostly.

The second disc is just strung together, like 7th mix.

There's one reason to get this soundtrack, and that is the hilarious Engrish message inside the booklet, which I will share with you all next time I think about it.

I've heard that the megamixing on the DDR soundtracks isn't that great. I got into Dancemania through DDR and I own quite a few Dancemania CD's and the megamixing is awesome. I love how the songs blend in and out of each other perfectly.

I used to want to pick up the DDR soundtracks, but now I'm content with my longer versions of the Dancemania songs, since I always seemed to gravitate more toward the Dancemania songs in DDR anyway.

And I love reading the lyrics in the booklets. It's obvious whoever wrote them down didn't know english very well. My favorite is the lyrics for Jenny Rom's Senorita, from the Dancemania Speed 9 booklet: "I'll be a dancing mayhem, dancing mayhem." It's obvious she doesn't say anything like that at all.
