6/14 SFGAm Raging Bull Fun

Associated parks:
None

Ok I went yesterday too. I had lots of fun even though it was a Satrday and it was sorta Busy.

Ok I arrive at the park a 8:45, waited until 9:30 to be let in . I was the First person let in the park, ran to SUF. For Once it opened up on time, the last two times I ran to SUF first It open on time.Any way I did Back row fun love the Gs. Anyway then I ran to V2 it was a Walk on I did 3rd row. Then I ran to bull and I did a mini Bull marathon sorta but I had to get off. I rode it 3 times in a row each time It was row 8 walk on each time.then i wanted to do a DEMON marathon like yesterday but I only got one ride then cause while i was on the ride lots of people came and the staion was full. I just headed to AE blue I had a 10 min wait. Then I headed back for raging Bull I did back row and that was like 10 mins.

Then Bull bull kinda emptyed out so I did it again but this time I did first row. I wanted to take some on ride pics.Little would I know this ride was gonna be my most memorable ride to date.I got On the the yellow train in the first row all the way to the left. When going up the lift I whiped out camera and took a picture of the lift then I noticed a Ride Op In the staiton look up at me with my camera and then he ran to the control Booth and then like 3 seconds later we stoped like 200 feet in the air. It was sooooooo scary I thought they stoped the entire ride because of me. I felt soooo bad. I didnt know what to do.After like 5 min of being stuck I calmed down and thought that something else must have happend. Then a ride op came up I asked him it was an Emergancy stop or a problem he said that the ride stoped it self. Then I notice that the teal train was like stuck half in and out of the shed the red car was stuck on the mid course breaks. I felt much better. That was one of the most fun things in my life.I was stuck like 10 feet from the top.I was in the most comfortable chairs ever. I got a tan while I was up there lol. They evacuated the red train first. Then they did our train 200 ft in the air. They did it from the back forward. I was the last person from the train evcuated. It was cool. We had to walk down the side stairs. It was cool I got some pictures while i was up there. That was something I will never forget. We were stuck up there for like 25 mins. At the base of the lift we got one of those "sorry for the inconveince" passes that lets you in any ride thorugh the Exit. I dont think iam gonna use it cause I go there and ride every thing so much its point less. unless I get another one this season.

But thats cool anyway. Ok after all of that it was like 12:30 and I did american eagle blue walk on cause by then red opened up and the croweds were evenly distrbuted bettwen the 2 coasters. Then I did Demon agian still hoping that i could do a marathon but no I was like a 5 min wait. Then I did viper I had like a 30 min wait longest wait that I had all Day.Then I went In to Skytrek just cause it had no wait and took some more pictures. Then I went to the back of the park to ride AE red cause i hadnt all day that was like a 10 min wait. Then I hit Triple play I love this ride. Then I left.

I had a good day

I had just got off Raging Bull and was waiting in line for Giant Drop (after seeing a short line from RB) when I noticed the two trains stopped. I've noticed in the past that on good dispatch times, the trains usually "criss-cross" at the lift-hill and mid-course-brakes. I wonder if your train was too close to the first drop before the other train was through the MCB's that caused an E-stop.

Also, since I didn't stick around to see them empty or restart the trains, I was wondering how the train on the MCB's got enough momentum from a dead-stop to finish the course?

I think the MCBR is slanted so that a stopped train can slowly start rolling. As for the rest of it, think of everything after the MCBR as a seperate coaster- the drop off the MCBR being the first drop (highest point). Rides are designed so that if a train is stopped in the MCBR, the drop afterwards provides the train with enough momentum to finish the course, or in lay-mans terms, the Break run is high enough for the train to gain enough speed to finish the course, even from a complete stop. I'm sure my explanation needs some correction, so correct away! :)

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.

Thanks BullGuy. Your explanation makes sense to me. For some reason I was picturing one of the final helixes rising above that point but I'm sure that's not the case.

Still, I would have liked to have seen them clear the track. I bet that train just crawled through the remainder of the course.

yeah i didnt sick around to see well it had to have made it but i bet it was going slow.

Wow, what a day! That is my dream to get stuck on a lift like that on a coaster. Sounds pretty cool. Maybe I'll have that kind of luck this year. I'm surprised all they gave you was a pass to get on a ride, and not free tickets. At SFWoA they gave out tickets to come back another day when my family was removed from the brakes before the station, much less the lift hill.
I wouldn't exactly call getting stuck on the lift, then having to climb down the stairs exactly free ticket material. It wasn't that long.

A couple of years ago at Great America, my friend and I decided to go on Viper, and we were waiting in line for our car, and we heard the people behind us telling their family/friends in the line next to us that they weren't going to be on the same train. Well that day alot of people let us go infront of us (which was odd, we always have that sort of luck) so we let them go ahead of us so that they could be on the same train. It turned out that their train (the one that we were supposed to be on) got stuck on the lift for like 15 mins. They weren't evacuated, but I was a little bummed.

Then 2 years later, we were on Eagle Red, and we got stuck on the brake run with half our train inside the station. It wasn't a lift hill, but it was cool (then again Eagle brakes down like everyday, so everyone and their borther have been stuck on it) I don't think I have ever been to that park without Eagle getting stuck someway or another.

Edit: Woo hoo. My 150th post!. Took my nearly 2 1/2 years to reach it, but I did! :)

I've only seen ae break down twice since I've been going to the park. I've been on 95 coasters and only been on two that have broken down with me on it. Shivering timbers, ( it was the ride op's fault) and Millenniumforce. It got stuck at the break run. They had to push the train back into the station.
