5th coaster coming to big chiefs

Accourding to the big chiefs ad in the Wis. Dells 2003 travel and attraction guide, they will add Tritons Water Coaster. the ad says it will be 6 stories tall. the odd part is that the rest of the ad sounds like a log flume, not the roller coaster they say it is.
Interesting. Could it be similar to Buzzsaw Falls? A flume with coaster sections? Anyone know anything?

Sure sounds like Buzzsaw, I hope that is true because it is a really unique concept and it will be nice to see more of them pop up.

Is there anything that claims *standard* roller coaster....I mean, it could be a shoot-the-chutes or log flume VERY easily and be called a "water coaster"...

...then again, how about one of those cool 1-2 people raft rides, they're about 60' tall, aren't they. IB and WA have them, they're fun if it's not too cool out, poor capacity though...I'd bet on THAT being your so-called "water coaster" unless there's contradictory info....;)

gator in the drawing of the raft its a 4 person log, 2 rows of 2
Hmm, I know of no traditional flumes that are 2 abreast (sans Splash mountain Florida and Tokyo) nor any that only have 2 rows. Interesting....

The ad states: "New Water Coaster - Rise up 6 stories into the sky...then plunge straight down into the raging river below. Jet through towering waves and narrow straits as you sail homeward around winding passageways." The "drawing" is a cheesy, cartoonish log with four people in it (two row of two). I wouldn't count on that being accurate.

Remember that Wisconsin Dells attractions are king at billing attractions as something they're not (like Zeus being the fastest wooden coaster in the midwest and Noah's Ark being the largest waterpark). Logically, a log flume would make the most since because of the drawing and because a real watercoaster seems like an expensive addition for such a small park.

The article does specifically state the park now has five roller coasters, though, and a log flume seems like *quite* a stretch, even for Big Chief. However, I'd love to be proven wrong and for it to turn out to be a Mack watercoaster. Remember, they're in the area this year for Noah's Incredible Adventure. :)

I'll check it out next time I drive through the Dells, which shouldn't be too far off.

BTW: The flume ride @ SFA, Typhoon SeaCoaster, features 2 abreast seating. It is an Intamin product. So there are non-Disney two across boats.

I'd like to see them outdo Shivering Timbers!
I just saw an ad that says Shockwave is being relocated to Big Chiefs for 2004. I CANT WAIT!

That would be neat if Shockwave ended up a t Big Chief. Wisconsin Dells needs a looper.
Again, thats the first time I ever said anything like that
