here's the rides breakdown:
raven (35 laps in 2 hours!) - fantastic rides all day today. the raven was running great with the warm temps.
legend (5 laps) - the retracking of the first drop has improved the pacing of the ride by about 50%. the airtime is plentiful on the hills after the diving helix and the laterals in the two "tunnel" helixes are even more intense. this ride is running the best it ever has.
bumper boats (1 ride) - always a fun ride with friends...good times.
raging rapids in boulder canyon (4 laps) - great rides throughout the day. a little disappointed to see that the big "waterfall" in the flooded town wasn't working...i'm sure it will be up though later in the season.
liberty launch (1 ride) - this one experienced some downtime throughout the day. i rode the ride right before close...pretty much the same everytime on it.
tilt-a-whirl (1 ride) - decent length of ride cycle but the carts weren't turning real well today for some reason across the board...i can't really figure out why....could heat affect their turning?
log flume (1 ride) - camden parks flume will always be my favorite....but this is always a fun one too.
a few other side notes:
-several of the food stand were closed down, i guess due to lack of employees or customers during weekend operations.
-jungle racers and several other splashin' safari rides were being tested today...lifeguard training was also going on.
-kringle's pizza was as awesome as ever!
-ride ops continued to impress me throughout the day today. they were quick, friendly, and efficient...as if i expected anything else!? i wish opening weekends at other parks could run as smoothly as they do at holiday world.
we ended up staying at the park till close because of the low lines, great weather, and fun times. this was probably the best day i've spent at holiday world.
things just keep getting better each season. *** Edited 5/9/2004 3:14:33 AM UTC by Johnathan***
