5/24 - A Day of Woe at SFWoA

Associated parks:
None

To bad about your experiance. Last summer I had a good time at SFWoA, I loved X-Flight. I still think Cedar Point Employees are worse than SFWoA, but thats just from my past experiances, love the park but not the employees.

ps. I see nothing wrong riding with a dozen high-pitched, screaming, half naked, teeny-boppers. "half naked" :)

You can't expect the park to have full capacity on a day where they expect not many people to go---Friday during the schoolweek.

Funny, I expected exactly that, and got it, at the park I visited that day.

It's sad to see people expecting sub-standard service after paying nearly or more than $50 just to step foot into the park.

Another thing that is funny is that everyone I was with today said they loved being at SF compared to another park I know of because of the long lines at the other park. They also mentioned yet ANOTHER park down south that has really long lines too. Seems WoA has good ride que times.

Yea it's funny how their parents choose to spend their hard earned money taking their family to Cedar Point or PKI during the middle of the summer when of course it's going to be busy. I'm sure once these kiddies experienced SFWOA's operations on a hot sweaty July afternoon, they'd be begging to go to somewhere where lines actually move! Comparing SFWOA in May to CP or PKI in July or August is like apples and oranges. Just to illustrate a point, last Tuesday, 2 Wicked Twister rides in 15 minutes, 2 Raptor rides in 20 minutes, and 8 Magnum rides in 45 minutes at CP. I'm sure I could have had plenty of Gemini rides too, or Corkscrew, or Iron Dragon, or Mantis, Mine Ride, Mean Streak, etc. I was getting so many rides that the people I was with couldn't keep up anymore!

It's also amazing the number of people who see full queues on Magnum (not including the ones behind the bathroom), hear from the op at entrance that the wait is 45 or 50 minutes, look at him or her like they are on crack, say, no way, that wait is way longer than an hour, and walk away! Perhaps they've been poorly taught how lines are supposed to move somewhere else.

First of all they were not my parents, second of all it was more than 5 people that said this, and they didn't all go during the busiest of times.

If you don't want to admit it or not, WoA is doing way better IMO than that other park, based on my experience. Just goes to show yuh, they all have their times and nobody's perfect.

I will admit that they were slamming restraints a little hard on my last trip, I asked kindly that they be a little more gentle and I had no prob. the rest of the day.

I personally had fun at WoA, but it could be improved in many areas. Why don't they take an example from SFoG, or SFGAm. These parks don't seem to have capacity issues and almost always have 2-3 trains running on rides that are capable of it.

B&M Tycoon: Now seeing that you are only 15 and don't drive yet, I'd like to know now many times have you gone to Cedar Point and how many times have you gone to SFWoA this year? On top of that, how many times have you gone to the Point during a weekday? I would imagine that you can't really base your opinion that WoA is doing way better than the other park because you may not have gotten the chance to sample both parks equally. But, I respect your opinion and maybe Six Flags has been doing better, I can't really say that SFWoA is a terrible park based on my two visits in the past three seasons.

But from my experiences, however, I did not enjoy being at the park and therefore did not visit as frequent as Cedar Point and Kings Island. Even on those busy school days at Cedar Point and Kings Island *which are both 1 hour and 3 hours away respectively* I still managed to have a worthwhile time mainly becuase of capacity.

I just don't see how even on the deadest days at Cedar Point they still manage to run all three trains on Corkscrew, all 4 towers on Power Tower, and both trains on Blue Streak. In addition, Kings Island runs two trains on Vortex, two on Beast, two on Son of Beast, and two on Top Gun. Compare this to the dead day that we were at SFWoA we had one train on Big Dipper, one on Villian, one on Serial Thriller, and one on RWB, they were not prepared for any surge of people coming to the park when Cedar Point and Kings Island both were.

To me waiting in line can be the funnest park of being at a park, or the worst part. The reason I don't mind waiting in line at PKI and CP is that they keep moving every few seconds. At SFWoA we moved a few feet every 10 minutes. Granted, they still have some unique rides, BKF is one of my favorite Beemers and I was satisfied that they were running two trains. I just didn't like the way the park was running and I didn't have a worthwhile time.

Once again, I am not biased whatsoever against Six Flags. Otherwise I would not be spending the 1600 miles to drive there and back, the $200 for hotel accomodations, and the $50 for gas to go to SFA and SFGAdv just to look for something to complain about. I'm giving this park an equal chance as I did for PKI last year, and Kennywood this year. When I come back I will post a TR about my experiences at these two Six Flags Parks as well as the Cedar Fair park(Dorney), BGW, and the Paramount park (Kings Dominion) that I will be travelling to for the first time.

What day did you visit this park? And which Six Flags WoA commercial were you in and how much were you paid to say that?

Dayuum, Your HOT!

While I took a trip to SF:WOA last season I was not very impressed(save for a few coasters i.e. B:KF,VILLAN and Big Dipper)I am however willing to give them a second chance just because the day I went may have been an off day for the park.I would go again just for B:KF alone.I do hope when I go I have a more enjoyable experience and the Ride Ops are more friendly. However one thing I did notice which, IMO, was very unacceptable was the lack of measuring and checking of lap bars.I saw a littl girl who was about 6 inches too short ride Raging Wolf Bobs and when one of my friends said something to one of the Ride Ops they just gave them attitude and made some remarks. But that was last year and I do believe that has changed this year and I personally am looking forward to my next visit to see how the park has improved from last season.
