While everybody at home in Denver was getting ready for The Flying Coaster, I was out on a family vacation. Being in Ohio I had to ride the Beast (I've been waiting for nine years).

So we get there at 11:30, driving in from Columbus. We got our tickets at AAA for $27 so we were happy. The place was packed and there way to many school buses for my taste. I basically was able to get a ride on the major things.

1. Son of Beast-
This was our first stop, the wait was about an hour. I've heard it was a little painful, but I wasn't expecting what I got. The ride looks so promising but I felt a little shredded after this ride was over.

2. Top Gun-
After an hour of Danger Zone and the like it was nice to get away from the four annoying girls waiting in line behind us. This is my second arrow suspended and was pretty fun, but seemed a little short.

3. Face Off-
After waiting an hour in line, the ride breaks down. We just made it to the loading platform. I was sad :(. So we waited about fifteen minutes and they played the "this ride needs some extra attention" spiel. So I never got to experience this inverted boomerang :(.

4. The Beast-
After lunch and another long wait, the beast was finally mine for the taking. This ride took me by surprise, I didn't really know what to expect and I still don't know what happened. The drop after the second lift is so cool :).

5. Tomb Raider-
So this was the longest wait, it probably took a little more than 2 hours. The theming was good but I was being too picky, my biggest pet peever is that they did not disguise the flood lights in the building or even the HVAC ducts in the ceiling. But it really isn't that big of a deal. The ride was awesome, I had not ridden a top spin in awhile and this was a quick reminder, it was cool and good but seemed real short.

6. Vortex-
This ride was calling me from Tomb Raider's queue, every time it went over that hill, "Ride me... Ride me" So after probably another hour wait or so we got on. This was cool, I thought I was going to be banged to hell and back, but wasn't :). I don't care what people say, Arrows rock!

7. Flight of Fear-
The outside looked almost deserted, but of course not, another hour wait, inside that hanger with that creepy flying saucer. We probably saw that video run through three or four times, in that twisted mess they call a queue. Anyway this ride blew me away, maybe we can get one of these at SFEG.

8. Racer (backwards)-
So it is 15 minutes til closing, so I had to take a lap backward. Bad idea, that thing hurt, I had no idea what was happening. I should have gone forwards, that way I could brace myself better. But it's still a good woodie.

9. Adventure Express-
With five minutes til close we just made it and even got a front seat on this walk on. This ride was fun, the colored lights and the theming were cool. Fireworks going off in the background(the park was closed :() and those things with the moving arms on that last lift, it was fun. Nothing beats the charm of a mine train.

So it overall it was a good time, but I feel it would have been better if I could have absorbed the atmosphere and ridden some flats and gone up the tower. I didn't even have the chance to venture into the HannaBarbera and Nickelodeon lands. But this gives me an excuse to go back again :)

I Love the way you organized the TR! Too bad about the crowds and crummy luck on Face Off. Drop Zone would have been cool as well as the flyers! But, like you said an exuse to come back!
