5 Inversion SF Cool Coaster

This is a coaster I just finished making. I started vertical construction at about 5pm today, and the first train was set out at 6:30. This is the new record for number of inversions on this set I believe, I would like to see someone try to beat it. The inversions are: Cobra Roll, Dive Loop, Cutback-type thing, and a Zero G Cork Roll. I think I did a good job, it has rather good pacing, as it doesnt just fly around the track where you can't enjoy it, but it has some slow points then speeds back up, it really gets some good forces going in the last inversion into the " brake run."

Here are some pictures

Sorry about the quality of the pics, I dont have a digi-cam, just a palmcorder, with a compact flash card.

And the reason I didn't put this in with the thread about the toy was because the thread has had a ton of responses and people have lost interest in it, and probably wont go to it anymore.

Operation Wicked Twister - Goal: Lose 50 lbs by next season to ride it! (updates soon)

i used about 2 1/2 , I have 3 but i didnt use all the track and supports, and I didnt need the launcher because it goes so fast already

Ive built a few different version since ive gotten the sets, and Ive alreadys used up one and a half rolls of duck tape( to keep the "footers" on the floor, and make the track more sturdy, which in the end gives a faster ride

Oh, by the way the train has 3 cars, anymore and the train wont make it all the way around

Im the #1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!!These are my top 3 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone/B:TDK

Very cool, I have one right now and its hard to get the cars to go through 2 elements. Im planning on buying a couple more of these just to make some recreations with and maybe figure out how to make a lift hill with one of these things.

Wow I was gonna buy a couple sets the other day but I got to looking at the box and decided it wasn't much. What you have got there has changed my mind. That would be a pretty darn good layout for a real coaster.

All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

That's awesome! Just seeing your set is gonna make me buy one. How many inversions can you make with one set?

Thanks for the comments, Id say you could make about two inversions with one set.

That's what I thought too... then I opened my box. It's packed so densely that is just seems like a small box. There's really a LOT in that little box. It's the best Six Flags engineering I've ever seen!

Thats pretty cool. I just ordered this and can't wait to start building. I also got the rest of the Faller kits including the Free Fall Tower. The circus will work very nicely with the rest of my model railroading. The only downside of this coaster is no inversions! Give and Take... ;)

Very nice work Drachen. I too think the packing job deserves a Golden Ticket Award! :) Of course repacking it is a nightmare. I had two pieces left no matter what I tried.

Goliath, you can customize your layout and include a vertical loop. You'll use half of your track to get the lift high enough though.

Okay I know this is a stupid question but is that KNEX? If it isnt where can I buy this?

Cedar Point gets "twisted for 2002"
Great Escape gets "screwed for 2002"

What is this? Where do you get it? Is it easy?

Have you ever seen the Demon?
Have you ever heard him scream.............

.....is the Demon what he seems or just a bad, bad dream? In your mind........LOL

The coaster on this thread is not KNEX. Rather, it is the latest toy currently available at Wal*Mart. It is very easy to build. Please see the corresponding thread titled "New Coaster Toy" for pics and info. $20 US. The coaster I linked to is a modified version of the FALLER Big Dipper, available from Walthers and good hobby stores. $150 US. And slightly more challenging to build. :)

Thought I'd repost this to this new thread. The old one is too big!

NEW SET FOUND!

Hi all. I was still looking for a 2nd set, but figured I'd wait since no one around here (Mass) had anymore. This morning I had to go to BJ's Wholesale Club here in Framingham MA to get a few things. I noticed they were setting up for xmas so I thought I'd take a look down the toy aisle...and there it was. For the same price ($19.99) as the Wal-Mart set this new set comes in a bigger box, includes 4 more feet of track, a 2nd blaster, and curiously a sound box in one of the blasters for screams and coaster sounds! This set says you can make the Mind Eraser and Revolution. It must be a wholesale club version only, I found it at BJ's ( which I believe is in the Northeast only), but I imagine that Costco, Sams and the like will probably have it too!

I have posted a pic of the box to my webspace. Check it out!! http://users.rcn.com/guycai

I have yet to open it, so I'll report on any other differences I find once I do.

Has anyone found this anywhere other than a Wal-Mart supercenter or BJ's? I've looked at 3 regular Wal-Marts (Chicago has no supercenters, and no BJ's) and a Sam's, all to no avail. Anyone in Chicago had any luck?
Anyone with a BJ's nearby willing to hook me up? That set sounds like a great deal.
How do you connect the ends of the track?like on the SS, you have to use tape to connect the rails, how do you connect the ends of the track, cause I know if you tear one set down after building, the rails are alreayd snipped to fit the layout, and it wont work for a new layout so im constantly snipping the rails to make them fit...is this how SFCC is?
