First off, I looked for another topic with this title and didn't see it. I apologize if it does exist. I am hopefully going to SFWOA on Thurs with a couple of friends from school and the folks usually go too. We have done it the last 2 years and started a little tradition now. The park was really, really crowded last year but season pass people were able to bring someone for free. This year its 20 bucks to bring someone on Independence Day.
I was wondering if people are not going to parks this year because of possible terrorist attacks. I feel the terrorists will make an attempt on us before the year is over but they will use the element of surprise and not pull it off now. If I die then I die, just like New Hampshire says it, Live Free or Die.
I'm not going to parks on the 4th this year... but that is nothing new. I have never gone to a park on the 4th.
There are two reasons for this...
1) usually have other plans (picnics, fire works, etc) with family (especially now since my wife has a big family) that do not include parks.
2) I try to stay out of parks on holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). I just have this image of big crowds and packed parks (I may be wrong).
Independence Day aside, we are planning on visiting 2 parks (Idlewild and DelGrosso's), possibly 3 (revisiting Lakemont) on July 5.

Taking advantage of the 4-day weekend to get out and ride some coasters. (Not much in the way of good rides here in Arkansas.) Holiday World on the 5th, SFKK on the 6th. I'd rather not go on a holiday weekend with half the country joining me, but it's the only time I have...
Hey, You should have no problems getting everything in at HW on July 5th. Take your swim trunks and take a trip to the waterpark too. Legends waits will be probably about 20 minutes with two trains. Raven in the evening will be a walk on.
SFKK, Here is my advice. Take your own food and drinks. Get them two steel coasters out of the way very early (Like as soon as they open) Then hit blizzard river and dry off the rest of the day on Twisted Twins and Thunder Run.
Chuck, saying he actually had a good time at SFKK this spring but that dosn't really mean nothing.
