Cedar Point, Sandusky, OH, Thursday, June 27th, beautiful skies, hot & muggy. Hint of rain, but never dropped.
The Park: Great shape and extremely friendly from the front gate to the last ride operator's "CLEAR!" Other than that, it was great to see my home park after 5 others in the midwest. 40 coasters in 4 days was worth every penny and especially, when I can see the Point one last time before football season begins. Sure, I go up on Sundays in the fall, but it was the last trip of the summer. Capacity of the coasters was stellar where ALL coasters released every train except the Mine Ride.
Actually, I would just like to focus on a couple of rides and close. We rode Wicked Twister first, but I realized something was amiss. The train was not making it near the top of the back spike, or even half way up for that matter, on it's first run. I thought that to be very odd. It was a 'good' ride, nonetheless, but it was missing something. After our jaunt around the park, we noticed WT was closed and stayed that way for the remainder of the day. That's one problem that needs repair immediately, since it's a real winner on the beach.
We hit every coaster on the pennisula, even the smaller ones and made a full circuit. Points of emphasis: Mean Streak really dragged about the course and is starting to digress. Gemini offered a great ride, especially when racing. I still cannot see over the boarded Area-51 and the curiosity is killing me. Magnum was rough as hell, but we rode 3 times because the que was only 10 minutes. MF and Raptor were rolling smooth and solid about their courses. I ate 2 whole chickens.
Overall: It was a great day and sorry to see another one of my summers drift away knowing the pigskin is about to be thrown around the yard. If you read all 6 pages of my trip reports, I thank you. I hit the 100 coaster milestone on my journey, which landed at LeSourdsville Lake, PKI, SFKK, HW, IB and CP. I hope to hear more from all of you soon concerning your trips and reports over the next month, I just wish I could be out there with you. Take care, Woody.
***Disclaimer*** 1) Every park is not the same. 2) 40 coasters in 4 days is worth every penny. 3) Thanks, Todd. I try very hard on my trip reports.
