7-9 Holiday World
The park was not crowded at all, and you gotta love those free sodas all day long and free parking, what a value!
The Legend- Not a bad ride, the strong and plentyful laterals left a bad taste in my mouth. For a CCI, I expected better. Not much air, either.
Raven- Proving that great things come in small packages. I loved this ride. 2 great airtime drops and good speed throughout. Love the on-the-lake turnaround.
The Howler- I barely got my beer gut and long legs into this kiddie coaster. Fun.
All in all, a beautiful park with friendly employees. Great value, go there!
7-10 PKI
From the "You've been warned" category comes PKI 2000. I won't slag it too hard, but after HW, it seems to come up short. BTW, Son of Beast will not be running today, sorry for the inconvenience. Over 2000 miles to get there and it's not running?? Well, it's a crap shoot with Sonny anyway, but I was almost sure at least 1 train for a few hours would be going. Actually it was, but the only way you could ride was if you were made of plastic and filled with water. There was a "fender" taken off the back car, exposing the wheel, the wheel was marked with white paint or tape or something. The ride ops (or should I say non-ops) stated it would run only for testing for the rest of the night. RATS!!!! I left in disgust, not even buying a shot glass.
Face/Off- Who says these invertigos are not fun rides? Waited over 1 hour for it, and that was early in the day.
Note to self: for next PKI trip, allow 7+ days in which to experience all rides due to closures and slow ride ops.
7-12 Cedar Point
Ah, coaster heaven at last, but where to go first? Oh yeah, the 310 foot one looks good, so I got in line. Got the TTR, it worked well for me.

I have been to the promised land, and it is Cedar Point. All rides open at full capacity all day long. Big props to ride ops! I even won at Skee-Ball, I NEVER win at that!
7-13 Michigan's Adventure-
Plant about 6,000 more trees, and this park would be great! $20 admission, nice!
Shivering Timbers- GET ON THIS COASTER!! Stop reading this TR, turn off your computer, get on the next plane, train or automobile that is headed to Michigan, and ride the most out of your seat, most out of control, possibly the best woodie in the world, SHIVERING TIMBERS!! Did I mention that this ride ROCKS THE HOUSE DOWN? Ride it, ride it, ride it!! And get this, it was a walk-on all afternoon!! Airtime heaven!
Wolverine Wildcat- An okay ride, a bit bumpy, but not too bumpy.
Corkscrew- You know the story on these.
Big Dipper- Another kiddie coaster that I barely was able to squeeze into.
Zach's Zoomer- Better than the WW, fun laterals on the turnarounds, small seats and no dividers. Fun stuff!
Mad Mouse- No spinning cars, thankfully. Gimmie a good Mad Mouse without spinning cars any day.
Who would have guessed that a small park would draw people from so far away? Shivering Timbers called me like Devil's Tower called Richard Dreyfuss in Close Encounters, and I am so glad that I went. You do not have a good enough reason to miss out on Shivering Timbers! GO NOW AND RIDE IT!!
What a great trip, thanks to my mother for use of the rental car and frequent flier miles. Next summer, Pennsylvania!!
