3/24/04 Yet Another New Storm Runner Update

Today is a big day in the progress of Storm Runner. By the end of the day today the last piece of track should be in place, and all vertical construction complete. As I am typing this it is probably being completed. When I was there at 9:30 this morning they were hoisting the final turn into the transfer track in place.

They had a big crew out working on the station, and electrical system. I have no doubt that it will be testing by the end of next week. I am anxious to see the trains on the track.

Does anyone know where I can post video of the test runs? I am going to try to be there when they start testing.

The pictures are in the Storm Runner gallery. The 1st one on the left. Enjoy!

I knew it would be good, but that headchopper followed by this sideways flip-flop thing is absolutely fabulous.
Great pics! I can't wait to ride! Thanks Coasterfantom2 for keeping me updated.

Wow! When the trees have leaves on them, that dive and head chopper are going to make this coaster outstanding.
Awesome!

What would we do without you? :)

Maybe you could try the following web site for your videos; it can hold 150 megs for free. :)

There are only 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who dont.
And it's right by the trailblazer, my first coaster! Ahhh, the memories...

What are those silver pieces over the track for? Its like that on both sides.

Those silver sections of tracks are removeable. There are connected with bolts. They are used for replacing wheels and adding/removing trains. Storm runner probably has redundantly secured sections on the course where rollbacks can happen.

That inline twist and dive is insane! Let me guess, is this another Stengel design?

I love that element too. Hershey refers to it as the Snake Dive. What has me so excited about this rocket coaster is that its not just a launch, tophat, and brakes. Don't get me wrong TTD is near the top of my favorites list, but the added elements really make this coaster a must ride. I am just happy that I am so close to it.

I drove by Hershey today, and all the track has been assembled. They were busy bolting all the supports in place, working on the outside & inside of the station, and doing electrial work. I am going to try find out when they are testing, and get there to take some video. Of course as usual I'll get there to take some pictures of the completed structure.

I am excited to be going on my 1st coaster trip this weekend. Going to BGW, and PKD. I have to get my passes processed at PKD, and I just visit BGW once a year usually. Maybe I'll run into a few fellow buzzers. Take Care!

According to WGAL 8, the local news channel the coaster track is offically complete.
Verification?
Hey how bout those Dutch Wonderland Pictures?
Also can you get any pictures of the trains yet?

I work for an amusement park chain. I know all!!!
Dang...whenever I click to view the photos, I just get redirected to this stupid page.

The site is down. I can't even get on my account to check it out. I am sure it'll be back up tomorrow.
The trains are supposed to be set tomorrow (3/30), but it's a
long way from running. There have been a few setbacks in all
of the construction aspects. I think it'll be a while....
I was there today 3-31-04, and as of this morning the trains have not been set. I am hoping I can stop and get some pictures by Saturday.
Coasterfantom2, I will gladly host the videos for you. Please contact me at dmoney5@verizon.net

Let me know, Great pics By the way.

The Trains are now on the track, and I will get the pictures up soon. They are standard Intamin Trains(look like Superman or Millennium Force trains with an over the shoulder and shorter in length of course). Yellow & Red are the colors. They are really nice looking. Testing is coming soon I can feel it. ;) Look for a new contruction thread shortly.

With actually being able to ride coasters now I really haven't had the chance to make it out to the park too much. In 2 weeks I have already been lucky enough to make it to BGW, PKD, and SFA. Not a bad start to the season.

Thanks to everyone that has enjoyed the pics, and drop me an email when you are heading to ride Storm Runner because I can probably stop in and take a couple laps with you. ;)
