This is a great gesture from local people!
Im sure it helps as the family has probably had to have a lot of time off work for this. Im also sure there will be no money from SF till a settlement is made or it goes through the courts. Prosthesis and therapy, not to mention hospital and Surgeon cost are rediculous and even though payment of such bills may be GUARANTEED through SF Insurance. The collectors will drive you nuts until they are paid in full. One reason you let a lawyer get a portion of your settlement is to get rid of the HEADACHEs totally unrelated to the injury itself.

That's great! I have never felt so bad for someone than when this accident happened. I would have killed myself. She's a brave kid.

I would like to add, that a young child such as this girl who can endure this degree of pain and tolerate it has the strength, courage and will of a bleeding soldier without a doubt. This maybe a little much to say, but this is how I feel. All the best for her recovery and her future.

It's good to see people coming together to help her out. That should help her travel back and forth a few times. I am hoping that she'll be able to live a somewhat normal life.
