3 Six Flags parks in just 5 days!

Okay so I'm going on a trip with my family, leaving from Akron Ohio on July 15th and will be heading East. Last year we all took a trip to SFGAm and it was greatly enjoyed, thanks to all the help from you guys. This year's trip has expanded a bit and we will spend one day at SFDL, the next half day driving, and the other half at SFNE, the day after that as a full day at SFNE and then finish the trip at SFGAdv for another day and a half. I have heard great things about these parks, and any words of wisdom as to where the best seat is on each coaster, to what time to ride coasters, or even just what to expect would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure you guys will be very helpful, because you all are the experts. Thank you! -Zach
At SFDL, ONLY sit in the FRONT seat on Predator. Any other seat will throw you around and make you wish you were dead.

Sounds Like a good trip. If you wanna do 4, Six Flags America is only about 3 hours south of GrAdv. :):)

Predator isn't that bad as long as you sit in the front of the cars since its trailered. The front provides XTREME airtime on top of hills. Its a great ride.
I love predator except for the last seat. I almost threw up after that ride last year....
Predator Ride of Pain....

anyways, SFDL is a very nice, small SF park... You can easily spend the whole day riding SROS

SFNE, never been there, can't help you

SFGAdv, expect the worst, and you won't be disappointed... Oh yea, I hope you like B&Ms too, their other stuff is barely worth a single ride each...

[edit]SFGAm is the best SF park I've ever been to.

Me and my brother did SFA, SFGrAdv, and SFNE in 3 consecutive days.. That's a good trip if anyone is interested. And you finish with the better of the two outstanding RoS's.

I'm not an enthusiast. I just play one on message boards.

Yeah & SFA has added PBR which in itself is a must ride attraction making for yet another reaason to include SFA to you r list of parks to visit on this trip.

I'm not sure about the lighting on SFDL's S:ROS at night but SFA's version is totally dark once you crest the lift,so if you havn't ridden it y et you shouldn't miss out on this awesome ride at night.

There are lots of other parks in that area, not just the 3 six flags. You may want to hit some of the smaller places and maybe Coney Island on some of those half-days you have planned. Just a thought.

SCREAM with me... in 2003!

I wouldn't say PBR is a MUST ride attraction. All it does is spin the crap out of you the whole ride, not offering any different forces til the ending drops really. I wouldn't wait more than 10mins for it (I couldn't believe how LONG that queue was for it! That will be a nightmare if it's filled).

Anyhoot, I just did something like that trip last week (PKD, SFA, SFGAd, SFNE, Playland, and Astroland). The parks were DEAD. Unbelievably so. You shouldn't have a problem!

What days are you planning your trips? I ask for two reasons. One, because if you're planning to go from MA to NJ on a weekend, that's a very, very bad idea. The Jersey Tpke on a weekend is the closest experience to hell i have ever witnessed. On a saturday last year, it took us 4 hours to get from Manhattan to the park, we only got on 4 rides, and it took us an astounding 2 HOURS to get out of the parking lot! On a weekday, however, you'll have no problem.

The second reason is that i might be at SFNE one of the days you'll be there. I'd gladly go on a couple of rides with you.

Ok, as for advice, at SFNE if you're there on a weekday, you'll have no problem whatsoever with lines. If you're there on a weekend, the only major problem will be the waterpark, although now that they expanded it that shouldn't be much of a problem anymore. The only ride that ever has lines is S:ROS, and it's worth waiting all day to ride anyways. For your first ride, you absolutely have to sit in the front - the view is astonishing. No, no - mind-baffling. No - life changing. After that, ride the back seat. Oh, and be warned the back seat of the Cyclone is VIOLENT. Many people i know have had serious back pain after riding it, so make sure you warn your folks.

Ok, SFGAdv. Hmm... lines are usually pretty long even on weekdays. I wouldn't go to the waterpark, as SFNE's waterpark has the same rides and is free. As for the safari - well, that's up to you but you'll have monkey doo all over your car. :). Ride S:UE first and pray the lines aren't too long. Then run to Nitrom and hit the Chiller on the way. With the one train op it's been pulling, it'll probably have the second longest wait. Superman is at the front of the park, so it might take people a little while to get around to Nitro (the 2nd most popular ride and IMO the best ride in the park). If you can get repeat rides on Nitro, get them in now because the line will get longer as the day progresses. The next popular rides are Medusa and Batman, but at this point the lines will be long anyways. Personally, i won't wait more than 20 minutes to ride Batman. Even though it's one of my favorite rides, i've been on it so many times i just wait until the offseason when i can marathon it over and over again. The rest of the rides you can hit at your leisure. And most importantly, Have Fun!!

S:ROS; SFNE. Ride it, and you'll understand.

Thanks for your help everyone. I'll have to be careful on those woodies. I'm having trouble finding a hotel in the Jackson area for that Friday and Saturday (yes two weekend days we probably shouldn't be there) and was wondering if anyone has any ideas of a nice cheap hotel room around $100. Also, I had been planning on going to SFA but had been warned it wasn't as good as the other 3. Is SFGAdv really as bad as some of you make it out to be? SFDL will be Tuesday, SFNE will be Wednesday Thursday and SFGAdv will be Friday Saturday. Thanks for all your help and any more is greatly appreciated.
