1. How many people attended last year, roughtly? What was the waits like for all three coasters? I think I remember reading it was a walk on for the older 2 and Voyage was a 15 min wait?
2. How much bigger of a turn out this year do you think there will be than last? I know no one has a crystal ball to figure it out, but you can take an educated guess as to what you think.
3. Is trying to find a hotel bad for this event. I know of a few places that will probably fill up by the highway but does it spill over to Jasper which is just north of the highway. Is it really important to book in advance?
Also,
I dont know if Paula is still lurking around this site, but any word on them altering The Voyage at all. A trim somewhere or having the mid course grab at all?
Thanks in advance.

1. Not sure how many people attended...maybe 500? Both nights Raven & Legend were walk-ons except for prime seats (front & rear...maybe a 1-2 train wait); Voyage was 20-30 mins for prime seats, 0-10 mins for middle seats.
2. I would expect turnout to be about the same as 2008. As fun as it looks I don't see the new water ride as being that big a draw.
3. Hotel room reservations can be cancelled, almost always without any penalty. Even if you're not yet sure you'll attend HWN this year why not just reserve a room now anyway? Better safe than sorry, right? If you find you cannot attend just call and cancel.
Try looking in Dale, Indiana. You'll find a Baymont and Motel 6 right at the I-64 exit. The park is a 10-min drive from Dale.
1. Excellent, thanks
2. Really, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there more ERT? Extra hour both nights. Would that not get more people out?
3. Maybe it's just me but I find it cheaper to just pick up a room on the day. I've found booking in advance costs more when I've tried myself. That's why I ask, I plan on going for sure, but if given the choice I would just wait till the day of, to get the room.
Also I forgot a question, what time does it usually get dark around that time of year around the park?

The problem with not booking a room is that there are a limited number of rooms in the area to begin with. The santa clause hotel is nice, but expensive.
If it were in another city/park, I usaly wait as well.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Renting an RV next door at Lake Rudolph is the way to go for any HW visit.

A trim? Perish the thought!
Because of the three trains, we do have mid-course brakes available if a train needs to be stopped, but they were only used as a trim briefly in 2007.
Yes, there's track work on all three coasters every off-season, but nothing that would negatively impact the ride experience. That would be illogical, wouldn't it? :)
Hope you can make it to HoliWood Nights!

Oh, man. I wish I didn't know that URL existed ... I'll be tempted to use it all summer long.
Not really. I'm always nice. And sincere. Never sarcastic. Right? Gonch? :)

So sincere that if you were a pumpkin patch, the Great Pumpkin would surely visit you on Halloween. :)
^^I once won a "Great Pumpkin" in a contest to guess the weight of the thing - it weighed almost 450 lbs....but it made one awesome Jack-O-Lantern for our big Halloween Bash. Alas, Linus never showed... ;)

Posts like this make me VERY happy. Holiday World will continue to be one of my favorite parks because of that.(and the pizza, fries, cookie and free drink for 4.80 with tax)

Who told you I played Lucy in "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" back in college?!
Ack! Dog germs! (Actually, that's not in the script, but we decided to add it so I could have one more frantic rant on stage.)
Happy New Year! Paula
