2010 Kings island season pass special.

I just got a post card from kings island in the mail regarding a special for renewing your 2009 season pass.

On select dates only, you can renew your 2009 season pass for only $69.99.

Not a bad deal.

The dates are...

9-7..10am-8pm

9-25..7pm-1am

9-26..7pm-1am

9-27..11am-7pm.

Plus you get free parking and free gold upgrade. If you wait till later in the year to purchise, it will cost you $104.99.

More info here... http://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/event_detail.cfm?event_id=640&ec_id=15

I guess they are trying to soften the blow of losing the nick area and scooby.

This does not mention anything about the platinum pass, only the kings island pass.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

And that's all you're going to get. Those who wish to keep the Platinum Pass benefits should not do this.

I agree.

However, if you live in the area, and don't plan on doing any other parks, this is not a bad deal.

The real confusion is whether or not the Haunts will be included with season passes for 2010. I have read reports that they won't. I don't know if that is just reg season passes or GP & PP.

On the KD site, they have the PP renewal for $145 and there it does include their haunt.

Just read on another site that the Haunts will be included on GP & PP for 2010 but not for regular passes.

Will a gold pass get you into any other CF park? I really want to make it down to Kings Dominion next year.

^Nope, only a PP will.

One could purchase a KI Gold Pass an then upgrade to Platinum later.

WOF is also having a labor day sale. Two park gold passes are $79.99 and Platinum Passes are $140. They are on sale at the park and online.

I wish Cedar Fair would get their act together and have a consistent sale price for their platinum passes. At KI & CP there is no mention of 2010 platinum passes yet KD, CarW & WOF all have offers but not the same offer. WOF is by far the best I have seen.

CGA is the real rebel. They're offering the rest of 2009 at Great America free with a 2010 pass.

Yeah, but you would have to go to Great America...

(sorry, but I was not particularly impressed with that place)

Then again, a regular pass for KI bought at the special rate + the typical discount rate you could find for KD may be more economical than buying a Platinum Pass that you use only for one trip to one other park.

True - some years I've made out like a bandit with visits to other parks, other years not so much. Being half way between CP and KI makes it a no-brainer for me.

I've been going to KI this year with a good friend who is differently abled, meaning he goes with me or not at all. Although at the beginning of the season we had great plans, I have yet to take him to CP - we're trying to find a Sunday in October to go. So his PP was essentially a big waste-o-money, and he's decided to take advantage KI's offer for next year, and maybe find a discount ticket for that one trip we might make elsewhere.

But we have to show up at KI one of those days, too, along with everyone else in Cincinnati. I bet the park will be jammin those 4 days.

^Sunday, the 27th might not be terrible...Steelers at Bengals at 4:00 pm! That'll help with the crowds some.

Yea, but isn't that still a Bengals road game? There will be more Steelers fans there then ones for the home team.

^Don't under estimate the number of Steeler fans that live in Cincy/SW OH!

I predict this Sunday could be a gem for going to KI, and I already have it penciled in...stay home if you want!
