The polls always bring out the MAJOR insanity that begins brewing the day after the local seasonal parks close...

...and Vibora is in a class by itself among steel bobsleds...

Wow, I didn't get what that whole top part meant. I thought you only pick one because that's your favorite roller coaster of all the roller coasters you like. In other words, your favorite type.

The thing that's misleading is the word "favorite". It says that you need to pick everything you've been on. I've been on the Spinning Mouse, and I don't like it, but yet it says everything that you have ridden. It says "Favorite Spinning Mouse" as the option.

Spinning mice? Exterminator........and all the others. Still wish they'd boost the light levels JUST enough so I could see all the elaborate theming just a bit more.

SFoT has a heck of an enclosed ride in Runaway Mountain - I'd have ridden that (and Vibora) more if it weren't for the lines. RotM and Space Mountain West seem to be THE enclosed coasters that have good capacity...

Something is wrong with the way they tally the results.

I can pretty much guess that if those ranking made you sick, then you would definitely projectile vomit over my rankings.

I got the e-mail that my ballot was processed, but that he's not letting people who voted view the processed ballots this year. That's too bad because I love looking through them, but I guess it could avoid some of the "fanboy-ism" that is out there (some even visible in this thread;)).

Anyone give Kraken a shot at #1. It is my favorite floorless of all time and quite a fun coaster?

Just glancing through last year's results there were a handful of ballots with Kraken as #1. About 5 I counted.

It deserves to be up there. I think if the coaster was overseas, coasterphan would have it in his top 5. Just because he is proud that he rode it and many people have not.

Sometimes it's fun to imagine that people actually live in Germany, and actually ride lots of rolley rides in their own country, and actually form their own opinions!

All right, so I managed to transfer the poll to Office 2004 for the Mac in Excel and used the "Text to columns" feature or something like that. It automatically recognized that I was importing a monospaced table and once I chose the right option everything lined up.

I doubled-clicked the top of the columns so the widest entry would be visible in each column. I've eliminated each row that I didn't need because I hadn't ridden it. So far, so good.

What I'd liked to know however is that Mitch recommends transferring the table back to WordPad in the PC to keep the monospacing once finished. On the Mac side in OS X we have Text Edit. Without my Mac in front of me right now, (I'm at work) does anyone know if Text Edit can do monospacing? Or once I transfer it, should I pick out a monospaced font (if one exists)?

Lastly, I agree with Lord Gonchar that Mitch's poll is actually easier to use than the other form-based method. You can eliminate a huge amount of rides right off the bat before transferring it into a spreadsheet based on country alone, say if you've only ridden coasters in the U.S.

I just edit the text file. Takes about 10 minutes at most to delete everything I don't need and change all the "N's" to "Y's" that need to be changed. From there it's just a matter of ranking the coasters.

I don't get how that online form could be faster. It takes forever to drag the coasters one at a time to rank them. I've tried the Excel spreadsheet conversion, too, with no success. It's much easier for me to just edit a text file.

And for the record, if when the results are posted they don't correspond with my rankings...they're wrong. I'm all for differing opinions, but come on. How is it possible for other people's not to be the same as mine?
