As always be sure to download the PDF.

And while you're at it - take a look at the Intamin Ad on page 28.

Looks like they used two Coasterimage.com photos without my permission. :(

Sue. They're used to it.

Heh. :)

It'd probably cost me more to sue than the rate the photos would've commanded.

You're right. Those are your pics. That's just not cool.
Hey! They needed pics of their rides WORKING.

^LOL, is it a mere coincidence that the Intamin rides were operating when Gonch was in the parks? Maybe...then again, maybe NOT... ;)
What new catagory next year to get another advertising dollar?
Best park employee nose picker?

Chuck

I'm trying to firgure out how Cedar Point's night show beat out things such as the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes (espically HalloWishes and Holiday Wishes where Disney actually makes it "snow"). *** Edited 9/5/2007 7:25:27 PM UTC by Andrew***

Andrew

For what it's worth, us Cedar Point fanboys are too. ;)

You can tell who gives the most money to them with 2 coasters in the top 5 steel, what a joke and best park to a park that cannot enforce a nosmoking policy? Im shocked that Meanstreak didnt make the top 10 lol and a head banger for best new ride. The real poll will be this winter.
Chuck: Subscribers will get a full page next year with a mirror and a headline--Bestest Park-Goer: YOU.

Or half a page. Maybe only a quarter-page. Depends on how much they're willing to spend!

NOTE: Severe fecal impaction may render the above words highly debatable.

Bingo! Or parks like IB with a five star restaurant and great park food overall get no consideration. Knoebels isn't even the ballpark.

Or Best Kids area, Anyone else been to Canadas Wonderland? Not even mentioned.

It's a popularity contest mixed with a advertising ploy.

I almost think they put S:ROS in first possition, BECAUSE IT ACTUALLY IS THE BEST! MF won for three years while basically everyone was saying how much better Sups was and I agree.

I'm gonna say the biggest injustice is El Toro being ranked number 9 behind The Beast. Intamin woodies get no love.
Okay, I have to be the one to say that the poll this year was perfect and the gospel truth. Anyone who disagrees with any of it is just wrong. But there is nothing wrong with being wrong if that is who you are. ;)

Congrats to TGG for 2 of the top 5 spots in a very strong top ten for their first two coasters. Hopefully the bigger parks will start looking their way soon. Oh, and Voyage got more points than S:RoS so it is the best coaster ever...just like I have been saying. ;)

edit: On Amusment Today's site, they only go back to 2003 and no coaster from then till now cracked 1200 points till this year Voyage got 1240. Does anyone know if this is a new record for points? *** Edited 9/5/2007 9:12:09 PM UTC by RavenTTD***

Well...since you brought it up ... I dug around in our archival copies and the best I can tell, it *is* a record number of points. :)

Holiday World

^ who cares i didnt think Voyage was all that great and in no way does it compare to SROS or even Eltoro the real #1 woodie and Mitchs poll will tell the truth. They should have deducted points for the BS of 24 sec of airtime on it because i didnt feel it.
If you download the 48 page supplement to the awards, it does officially say (on page 38) that The Voyage recieved more points than any other coaster has recieved in the history of the awards.

Yay Voyage and Holiday World! *** Edited 9/5/2007 10:00:24 PM UTC by Emiroo***

This does not determine anything. The voting was by invitation only. Since it was invitation only it could be bought and so on.

This is not a good survey and determines nothing. El toro would be much higher then 9th on a FAIR survey. It might not beat out voyage but would higher then 9th.

I just think that the golden ticket awards are more of how many fanboys for each park got invited to vote.

Come on Splish Splash here on long island has gotten awards for one of the best water parks in the U.S and has no mention what so ever in these awards. Alot of the best new rides splish splash already has.

Congrats to the Voyage on most votes! I shall be riding thee in t-minus 3 days! Nice to see Goliath SFoG make such a good showing. 3 B&M hypers in the top 10 ... hey Gonch, got any NyQuil comments? :)

So a record was set this year for number of votes, and a record has been set for the most pathetic whining! And we're barely at 2 pages! That's impressive. Keep the tear factory going boys, it's entertaining and loads of fun (unlike Toro).

Oh yeah? Go ahead. Try to explain how these awards are fair? Why is it parks like Splish Splash who win awards atleast every other year are not even mentioned on the golden ticket ?

Who gets these invitations to vote? Why not open the voting to everybody?

Go ahead bash me if you like but these awards dont show anything. I wouldnt be compalining if the voting was open to everybody.
