2006 Coaster's Choice Awards

Jeff...did we ever have the 2006 Coaster's Choice Awards? I honestly can't remember if we did or not...but going to the link on the page for the Coaster's Choice Awards, I don't see a link for 2006 results. Excuse me for my poor memory, but if we did not do them...why not this year? Will we do them for 2007? What's goin on here?

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

He said he had something else he was going to do and then never did it. That's all I can remember on that topic.

Not going to do it anymore. Going to do something else next year.

Something different and better? :)

Something not absurd like an annual poll. It's the Internet... it should be real-time.

But wait a minute? That means we don't have something to gripe about. Because my opinion that "The Beast" shouldn't be in the top 10 wood category is more important than everyone else that filled out the poll.

What kind of example are you setting here Jeff? We all live and die by polls!

Do we really need another poll that says: Cedar Point Is Number One for the 50th Year In A Row! MF does it again!
Maverick, though it hasn't carried any passengers yet, has risen tooooooooooooooo(drum roll please)
The Number One Rated Coaster Yet To Come!
:)

I think realtime would be great.

Would be kind of neat to allow users to rank their lists and then have a stats area to find out what other buzzers think.

Well, it would require that people with track records actually rank their listings.

This kind of thing only exists in my mind right now, because the forum app is still the cornerstone of the site. It's only about 40% done.

Ooooh c'mon...any more hints/tidbits about what you're planning?

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Actually, Not having it confirms it was seriouly flawed to begin with.

I know that Mitch will give his formula to anyone wanting to use it.

It would be interesting to see where both wood and steel rank in a fair head to head poll out of everyones picks.

Chuck, who's kinda razzing but yeah I thought it was a fanboy poll.

And I never said it was anything other than a popularity contest.

There are other sites out there that let members rank their favorite coaster and have a listing of the Top 50 Overall, Top 25 Steel, and Top 25 Wood. I'm just saying...

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

While I do like Mitch's poll, and find that his formula is generally sound, I'm still not comfortable with its accuracy on such a small amount of data.

Yeah, it'd be a shame to do all the work and then always have Adventure Express topping the polls. :)

Hi

What's wrong with Adventure Express? I like it! :)

^ But it can only be #1 until some enterprising park builds, ummmm, "Action Coaster".... ;)
Hey now, Adventure Express kicks ass and takes names!

...Except the ending. Seriously WTF.
