2006: A Year of Much New Stuff

2006 is going to be a good year for me and maybe even better since I now have 2 new ride people... my 60 year old parents who never though of doing the major coasters or looping ones.

In August they decided to try Tsunami at Clementon and it awoke them to the world of coasting. But they still insisted they wouldn't do a looping coaster. Fast forward to a couple days ago. They returned from Disney where they spent their 45th aniversary and I hear my mother say... "We rode Aerosmith Rock and Roller Coaster..." after that I lost it and asked what about no looping coasters. Her response was "I saw the building and though no way could this be a roller coaster." They liked it but are still not to sure about the looping where they can see it idea.

We will see since I pretty much have them penciled in for a day at GAdv with me next season. I know they will do El Toro, Nitro, Skull Mountain and Rotting Lumber, I mean Rolling Thunder. But we will see where it leads with loopers since I could wean them into them there. Oh and what a great thing it would be to see them on Kingda Ka. I'm not too sure about that due to the height of it. But a son can try can't he?

Plus I got plans for hitting up a lot of the new coasters next season.

If this works out, I may be doing a lot of coasting in the next few years with new to me experiences abounding.

Watch the tram car please....
you guys forgot about the screaming swing aka the Swing Shot at Kennywood next summer!!!!!

More important to the topic of "new stuff". Parks seem to be adding more of the RIGHT stuff. Alot of parks may not be adding "thrillseeker" material, but mostly things that will improve the *value* of the parks (SFMM notwithstanding).

The hotels and waterparks are REALLY solid additions, and generate *waves* of income...

And, just for Swoosh, yeah, HFEC is doin' it again...(when will others learn how to FEED people like Busch and HFEC)?

bill, thinking it must be about dinnertime... ;)

Are you looking forward to Bluegrass and BBQ again next year? They are making it even longer and bigger and I can hardly wait. I also am looking forward to all of the Christmas goodies that they have starting here in a few weeks. :) SDC=YUM!
Don't forget about the additions for SFNE (two new rides) and SFFT (Hurricane Harbor expansion, I believe) listed in the Six Flags vs. Red Zone documents.Who knows what else Six Flags has in store for some of the other parks. *** Edited 10/28/2005 3:43:34 PM UTC by Intamin Fan***

Well, if they stop catering to thrillseekers and do more of the "catering to families" (at least in the short term), they'll be more profitable in the long run and be able to *afford* to buy US more goodies later on... :)

Have I ever *not* been looking forward to BBQ?

bill, totally unsure about MO in '06...but I sure would LIKE to get back there...
