Was it made public that SFWoA's new ride for 2002-03 is Intamin?  Jeff, do you have any more details on that?

That was only speculation, and even if it is, they still don't have zoning approval from Aurora to build. Until that happens, there's no ride (at least not where they want to put it).

I saw on that site that:

Parking will be REDUCED from the current $9.

That's wonderful.  My biggest complaint with the park last season had to be the outrageous $9 parking charge.  It wasn't like armed guards were personally protecting each car or anything.  I'm not a cheap individual, but I just couldn't see how parking could be so much.  Well, if they aren't getting any new rides for 2002 and the animal world won't be done till 2003 as well, are there any substantial plans for 2002?

-----------------

Some people pay up to $9 a day just for the privilege of parking their car a quarter-mile from their downtown workplaces...  usually in crime-ridden lots, where people break into their 1989 Chevy Caveliers, even when they have nothing inside them to steal.

Thank God I got a different job in the suburbs.

Yes, some people *do* pay that much to park but that's in *metropolitan* areas where land is at a premium. Amusement parks are naturally expecting their guests to drive there and thus have huge parking lots installed which is why most of us feel it's unreasonable gouging for SF (or anyone else for that matter!) to charge $9 for the "Privilege" of parking your car whilst visiting the park.

SRM 2001: No Lights! No Brakes! No Bell?!

Considering that it doesn't cost $9 to park at Kennywood or Knoebel's, I don't think even Six Flags should charge that much.  That's like saying the admissison, fast pass, food, souvenirs, and everything else isn't enough?

Are they counting the whales as an addition for next year?

I know $9 is absurd when my Dad saw it he asked if it was a joke, the expensive food was plain slop.
