2001 Coasterbuzz Event?

I'll be the first to wish everyone a happy and safe 2001 coastering season! :)
Now that the Buzz has been around almost a year (end of January) is there any chance of having a an event at a park somplace?

And there you have it! The very first post of the new millennium. I've just been reading the boards looking for a "1/1/2001," and there it is.

Happy New Year to all of you Buzzers out there!

Back on-topic... I'd love to see a CoasterBuzz event. The only question is: Where to have it?

Six Flags Magic Mountain and Cedar Point would be good places - Duh! Happy New Year every1!!!!!!

Top 5:

1.) Medusa (west)
2.) Stealth
3.) Goliath
4.) The Riddler's Revenge
5.) GhostRider
Pappy's Fun Park in Impullingyourleg, CA would be a great place to have the event. They have a ferris wheel. It's cool. ;) I would love to see a Coasterbuzz event at a park somewhere. I think SFMM would be the ideal place to have it also. Either there or at SFMW. That way, I could go. ;) Peace. :)
Happy New Year! I would like to see a park throw a huge new year party. I bet IOA would be able to throw one hell of one!
It's been done... you know, at that little place called DisneyWorld... ;)

For some reason, I think more Buzzers are from the East Coaster and the Midwest. That along with the fact that this site's webmaster is from Cleveland, I'd be inclined to think that the event would be held somewhere in Ohio or PA. However, why not get the West Coasters to have one of their own? The more the merrier!

I've been thinking about doing some sort of event. I'll have to let you know... that's still a long ways off.

Adventureland, Iowa. Lots of ERT and a couple of mediocre to decent coasters ;)

I will be spending my happy new year on Ghostrider!!! Beats shoveling snow. :)

Say no, to lap bar nazis!

Happy New Year everyone. Why don't we go to Six Flags Great America? Centrally located, 2 new coasters this year, and a great park! We could have it in Cedar Point but then the West coasters wouldn't come. We could have it at Magic Mountain but then the east coasters wouldn't come. Why not right in the middle at SFGA? It would be perfect!

See you in 2001 for twice the fun (hint, hint)
my vote goes for cedar point for all the eastern and midwest people and magic mountain/knotts for all the west people and hold it on the same day at both locations. Just how I would do it and that way the most people possible people could do some get together.
I'd say have it a little south of cedar point/sfgam/sfo and have it in PKI or something. Maybe a small park like Holiday World.
I vote for Sf Great America

If the west coasters are going to fly all the way to Chicago for Great America, can't they fly a little further to Cleveland and experience the glory that is Cedar Point?

Actually, I think ioarulz has a great idea, maybe add more parks--one day; Cedar Point (midwest), Knott's Berry Farm (west coast), Dorney Park (east coast), Six Flags Over Texas (south)(Six Flags didn't leave anything in Texas for Cedar Fair to buy). Maybe have group shots taken at each park, at the same time, accounting for time zones, at each park.
Good idea slithernoggin.
Easter time zone: CP
Central time zone: SFGAm
Mountain time zone: ????? (Please help)
Pacific time zone: SFMM

I agree with ChiTown. Its a +24hr trip for me to SFMM and a +14 hour trip to the point. Time zones is a much better idea

If you wanted to go all-out, and this would require a lot of planning without Jeff, I think it would be a better idea to go by region rather than time zone. Why? Well, having the events at SFGAm and CP slights the people in the southern parts of the zones.

Region would be a better plan. Have an event at SFNE or Lake Compounce for the Northeast, SFoG or one of the Florida parks for the Southwest, SFoT for the South, CP or SFGAm for the Midwest, etc., etc.

And hell, I don't even know why it has to officially be done. Why not just get test the waters to see if anyone's interested in meeting up at a park in your neck of the woods, set a date, spread the word, and hope for the best. (The only drawback would be trying to get ERT or something like that.)

The possibilities are endless.

How about at Kennywood for the opening of the Phantom's Revenge?
