Nice pics! Did you win those cars in an auction of some sort?

Wow, were those body shells auctioned off?  You're one lucky person!

You are so lucky! Excellent pics. Now how did you manage to get those body shells?

Off season too long...can't go on...must ride coaster...

Actually he didn't win those.  You see someone had just ralfed all over them and by chance the Kennywood folks had just caught Geoff putting graffiti in the park.  Looks like he got clean up duty. LOL

Just kidding.  It must be really cool to have those.  But where in the world do you store something like that?  In a garage? In a closet?

I can see it now, "Dear I just don't have a thing to wear.  Oh, I know!  I just wear the Steel Phantom shell again.  After all, I just waxed it!"

Tee hee!  Thanks for sharing the pics.

P.S.  I meant absolutely no ill by this post.  I just wanted to make a funny :-)

I can't even find room for a Skee Ball unit, so I'm pretty sure and old Arrow looper shell would be out of the question!

Geoff,

Wow! You got a lead car!  I have a middle car. No joke!

To be honest, I haven't seen my car in a while. It is sitting at a friend's house because it wouldn't fit in mine. I am actually considering auctioning off my car in the future!

I wonder what it would go for now?

-Sean ( who tried to buy a lead car but was declined. =:^()

How much did these go for? And if anyone knows what is happening to the blue shells, LMK!

Sean! Buddy! Pal! LMK if and when you want to get rid of it. I'm serious! By the time I had heard about the auction it was over. :(

Hey, we got them from Kennywood for 100$ each.  No auction, just that we called and they had a problem with the seller that was gonna buy them, so they sold them to us.  I think it willed just stay on the deck because we got an automobile cover for it in the winter!  I am also thinking of donating the 2-5 car to the ACE museum, but I'm not sure yet.
-----------------
Thats a nice deal!  I would pay 100 dollars without a doubt for one of those!

Very cool!!

Hey were those the same yellow cars that were sitting outside the park, near the road by the Exterminator?  I saw them this past year just sitting there in the open.

When were the SP car's yellow? I thought they were blue.

Geoff,

That is what I paid for mine also, but I got mine back in 1998.  From what I understand, the park was going to shred most of the cars because they were not wanted. I purchased one, as well as a friend.

-Brad,

Hello neighbor! =:^)

Once I figure out what I am going to do with it, I will let you know.

-Sean

When were the SP car's yellow? I thought they were blue.

The Steel Phantom had yellow shells when it first opened in 1991 and I BELIEVE they ran through 1994.  I thought when I went in 1995 they had switched over to the blue ones.  I'm sure someone can help out on the exact dates if these aren't correct, but I do distinctly remember the Phantom having yellow trains.
