2 Lifts on Suspended Coasters... Why?

I thought that it could possibly be that too much speed would cause the trains to overswing and tear up the shocks like was happening on the Bat. By using lower lifts the speed can be controlled to lower maintenance problems. I know that after the second lift on BBW as you swing out over the water the swing angle is pretty big, any bigger would probably cause stress on the trains. Maybe RideMan can give us a definitive answer.

Ninja is built onto a hill the first lift is just to give it some additional height. The second is to lift it back up to the station simple as that. Im sure if they had put the station at the lowest level no one would be complaining.

It still a fun ride especially at night.

Even with trims, BBW flies. The second lift is the end of the ride, that big drop. Too much speed into that, it wouldn't be too fun. So, stop kinda, straighten up, lift, BOOM! It's always been fun, never thought of it any other way.

BTW, I wouldn't call BBW a "family" coaster, although families enjoy it, it was so much more INTENSE than Iron Dragon. Going back to BGW after CP, BBW schooled me, that's all I can say. I remeber the first time I rode BBW I was 12 or 13, it was an experience. Never had I been on something that felt like it was moving so fast. Iron Dragon really left me scratching my head, although I couldn't go as far as to call it a dissappointment.

For the record... you can use "Sans" when making a list. YOu have this.. and this.. without ( sans ) this. It can also mean you did not incluse something. I made a list of coasters "without" Top Gun. It made sense.

Women was god's second mistake.

BBW's terrain following at least in part dictated it's double lifts, though It does seem curious that so many suspendeds have double lifts.

IMO the other suspended that is in the same class with BBW is Vortex at PCW.

Vertigo, I have yet to ride it, but yeah, I imagine that HB2K is great. With that intense drop you have to be hugging the floor.:) Still, with the coasters I have experienced, I have yet to top BBW as the suspended with the mostest! I love that last drop into the Rhine. Especially from the back seat, when you almost feel as though you are starting the drop sort of sideways.... mmmmmm:):):)

BTW, the whole sans argument??? DLdude13, I did understand what you were trying to say, but your use of the word is indeed improper. Sans means without. If you wanted to imply that you were excluding the Beast (which is what you meant, right?), then you should have used the word exclude or something similar. No harm done, but I was an English major, so I gotta cut ya on that one!!!;) Later!

Tripowered for maximum results!

Something that hasn't been mentioned but might be a possibility- capacity reasons. Take the Iron Dragon at Cedar Point for example. I worked there, so I know that a train leaves every 35 or so seconds, and because of the way the block system works, having two lift hills allows 3 trains to be going at all times, which = sooo many people being able to ride. They easily can do 18,000 people in a day on it. I dunno but this seems to be to be a logical reason to consider.
