2 days at the point -->priorities

I'm going August 17 to CP, I was wondering...

-Is there a laserblast show?

-How are the crouds that time of year?

-How has WT been running? It was closed when I was there last year.

-How much should I ride each of the rides? I will wait as long as possible to ride dragster at least once, but I don't want to spend my entire time waiting for that one ride.

-We are staying at Breakers :) - is Dragster usually open for Joe Cool?

- Any other tips would be helpful..

Here we go, in order:

- No laserblast- We've got a Snoopy's Summer Spectacular
- Ask the 8-Ball- moreso this season than any other in my memory
- It's operating- I wouldn't really call what it does "running"
- Until you're satisfied, not us. Don't underestimate the power of Magnum
- It was once or twice
- Don't park in the lake

Here's another tip: you have two days...relax and enjoy the park. Don't stress about riding everything, don't zig-zag across the park.

A lot of CP visitors seem concerned about hitting all the coasters. We've been going to the point on a regular basis since 1995 and I don't think there's ever been a time we didn't hit every coaster in one day. Time of year doesn't seem to matter. A 4 hour wait for TTD might though. For the record we've visited during all the summer months, but always on weekdays too.

It's not very hard to hit them all once in one day. Go back and do rerides and other rides on day two.

I agree with LG. Relax and take your time. With two days you should have no problem getting on all of the coasters as well as the flats.

Ask yourself; When was the last time YOU visited Conneaut Lake Park?

Here's a tip to have the most fun: Don't worry about having fun. Really the only thing that will ruin a 2 day vac. at the Point is if you spend to much time thinking about what you're missing or how much more you wanted out of <whatever> instead of just enjoying the best coaster park in the world.

Here is a tip for the dragster. If you dont wish to wait all day when you could ride other rides wait to make it your last ride....get in line within the last 20min before the park closes. The line for the ride doesn't close till the last person is out of it. (hopefully it doesnt brake before you get to ride it though.)

Good luck! Have fun.

Dude just go have fun and don't put a whole bunch of pressure on yourself by trying to plan it all out so much.

Ok thanks for the tips everyone

One question though..at the end of august, does CP still run full capacity on the coasters?

Ride of Steel - Dude, with all due respect please f'in relax! If I told you CP only ran one train on each coaster would you cancel your trip? No, I didn't think so.

What rides are open, how crowded the park is, and how many trains are on each coaster is COMPLETELY out of your control. Stop worrying about those things and just enjoy your two days there.

Trust me...the more you overplan, the less fun you'll have.

You know someday I should really make my way to CP! but not until they get another B&M!

THE SCARIEST PART OF THE RIDE IS THE LIFT HILL!

We are going to CP the same week you are as we have for the last few years. We've never had problems hitting everything we wanted to multiple times. Things we've learned:

Staying at Breakers is great for your trip since you have an entrance right next to you. While everyone else was streaming up the midways we rode Magnum 8 times in 30 minutes when the park opened.

Take chill time throughout the day. We amuse ourselves by working the seagulls into a feeding-frenzy.

The train is fun. So are the swans.

We don't have to hit all the coasters on the first day.

The Raptor seems to be least crowded from 4:00 - 6:00pm. Strange, but true.

It's not a Six Flags park. Cedar Point will run to capacity as long as there are people riding. Gemini will be the only exception. They will likely only run four trains instead of six due to the fact that when six are running the capacity is so high that they can't always fill the trains and they have a tendancy to rollback.

Now relax. Take a nap. Drink a Mike's. Do something other than getting worried about your trip.
