1997 Paddlewheel Excursions Spiel (Prophesy???)

I think you are way off. "Voodoo Priest?" Some people take things a little too seriously and perhaps psychotic. I did *actually* add something, stating that there was no Cyclone yet. There are people who add meaningless comments in the current topics. Like I said, if you don't like the topic or just because somone dug out of the archives, then don't read it.

Chill out jkpark. I found his post to be intresting. It's so comical how people try to be such Voodoo Priests on this site. (wow how's that for cruel irony?)

Cyclone recreation, no. A Wicked Tiwster, on the other hand in 2002 was possible and happened. :)

I, personally, like it when people, such as jkpark, bring up old topics every once in a while. It's fun to read about old rumors and how some guy "knew what the park was building."

It feels pretty good actually. Seems you have nothing better to start besides trouble.

Anyway, for those of you with intelligence, I thought a recreation of the old CP cyclone was still a good idea. :)

Whatever, you couldn't take some constructive criticism of have people telling you how silly it was to raise a thread from the dead without really adding anything to it.

Yes it's still a good idea - however with CF's reputation for maintaining woodies, it's not a great idea.

Yay, it's me from two years ago as a somewhat-newbie. I don't know if someone is out to make me look stupid or not, but it looks like I did a good enough job myself! ;) Nothing like fresh discussion.

...still, you have to admit, it is a freaky coincidence.

Hey Swoosh,

If it is so silly to raise a thread from the dead then why are you too replying to it? If it bothers you that much, just ignore it.

However, your "contribution" was a tad toward the Captain Obvious end of the spectrum

Exquise me? What the heck is that supposed to mean?

The Cap'n does not don the mask and Ray-Bans simply to cavort around the board. He only comes when duty calls him to defend against the repetitive, banal and painfully idiotic. This commentary is quite shocking to read, especially from a MOJ member (tho admittedly admission was cheap and easy in those days).

Eh tu, Stalkee?

The CPlaya 100--6 days, 9 parks, 47 coasters, 2037 miles and a winner.....LoCoSuMo.

While I know that many times the ride ops are wrong when they talk about upcoming rides and attractions, that is not always the case.

Last year I was at HalloWeekends at CP after they had started building the TTD supports. Now obviously everybody knew a new ride was going in and wondered what it was. I had a guess myself, and in the end it ended up being pretty accurate.

I knew the ride ops wouldn't be allowed to tell, so I didn't bother to ask. However, while waiting in line for the front of WT late that night, the guy in front of me asked the ride op there about the new ride. The ride op answered him, and I caught bits and pieces of it.

So when I moved to the front of the line, I asked the ride op to see if what I heard was right. He replied, rather of matter of factly at that, that it would be 420 ft. high, be a launch coaster, and would go over 100 miles an hour.

I normally wouldn't think much of what a ride op said, but something inside me told me this guy was being sincere. I wanted to ask other ride ops, to see what they would say, and got nothing from them. In fact, at the Raptor, I mentioned the specifics of the ride that the other ride op had told me, and they laughed and started saying it would also be all these other crazy things that weren't even realistic.

To me, that seemed like just a tactic to throw me off since the other guy had told me the truth, and seeing right through it, only reinforced in my mind that the other ride op was correct.

At any rate, I just wanted to share this experience and thought, and since it was brought up here, decided to do it now. Sorry if some would have liked to see this thread left for dead.

While it is often the case that "People who know don't tell.... and People who tell don't know", that is not always true, and I thought this was a good example of that. We are all human, and if you're lucky, you may actualy get a viable leak.

Take care and God bless!

You can ask the ops all you want. It's not that they aren't allowed to tell...it's that they don't know. Do you think a PR department would trust teenagers with a secret!?

I don't think the ride ops have a clue.
