A 13-year-old girl has died after being flung from ride at an amusement park in southwest China, a local newspaper reported. An initial investigation showed that her seat belt had broken and a passenger safety bar did not fit tightly enough at the Chaohua Amusement Park in Fengdu county in Chongqing municipality, the national product safety regulator said on Saturday.

You can find video on YouTube. Pretty disturbing. And the noise when the carriage hits her (the camera pans away, as usual, not sure why) is just sickening.

And we were discussing this on Facebook... They already settled for the equivalent of $127,000?!? That's unreal.

Very sad. My thoughts go out to the family.

There are a few videos of the accident online. It was pretty terrible.

Edited to add: I didn't see Shane's comment when I commented earlier.

Yeah, that was pretty bad. I can't unhear that crash into the railing.

I've never heard of this manufacturer. Is this one of those "copy" rides that are shady imitations of popular rides from other firms?

There is a video I will never watch. No real interest even before the description here. Peace/comfort to the family.
