1293...Is that counter right?
That is most people I have ever seen surfing coastes buzz at one time. Amazing. Jeff does run a fine sight, but I think the most I have seen up until now was 2 hundred and some. Is that counter right?
I am not sure about that though. The counter in my opinion has been a little off. I do not see how over a hundred and 30 people are always on this site but that is just me. It is a very nice site and I commend Jeff on that, but the counter to me seems to be a little but "up'd". Not cutting on anyone, but I dont at 4 in the morning there are over 100 people surfing. My guess is possibly give or take a 100?

Food for thought, counter is at 605 as we speak. Maybe a big glitch?

Generally speaking, an average of 5,000 people hit the site every day. Every time someone visits and starts browsing, it ups the counter one. They are counted until 20 minutes after they stop browsing. At any given time, particularly on a Monday night (busiest time), it's not uncommon to have 200 to 300 people on at once.
What I think you're seeing now is something out there that spidered the site (a search engine) and somehow started new sessions with everything it did. It's dropping very quickly.
