Congrats for being the 1,000,000 customer, btw! ;)
I mean, it must be effective or the company wouldn't advertise that way but I just don't want to believe there are that many stupid people in the world.
Thanks,
DMC

Of course, I would never use such a product. *** Edited 4/22/2005 4:20:26 PM UTC by Kahnverse***
The only ads here that piss me off are the ones that make noise. How annoyong do these things have to get? Toad croaks and camera clicks DO NOT sound good when mixed with my Nine Inch Nails MP3s.
I NEVER click on ANY popups, PERIOD. I can usuially close an ad before it loads. I ALWAYS delete the cookies these ads leave on my computer after I am finished with CB.
I respect Jeff and the hard work he put into this site, BUT I still HATE Pop-ups. If a lot of Buzzers weren't so arrogant, I might send Jeff 20 bucks each year. But why should I pay $20 per year to hear, "You are so stupid, Dex. Ya spelled a few of dose words wrong, Dog."
I refuse pay anyone to piss in my spoon. I don't need anyone to remind me that I didn't do well in school and I never went to college. That's not worth 20 bucks. Everyone is good at something and bad at something. I am very good at art and music, and bad at spelling and math.
...Only my honest, true opinion, so any flames hereafter will be ignored.
I don't have a pop-up blocker anymore but, let me tell you i think that rule is pretty stupid. But, who am i to say anything when this isn't my site and someone is trying to make some cash.
I think the web site was ww.adwear.com
And Dex, the "poor me, I don't know how to spell" argument is stale. You are telling me that you do not have Word or another word processing program on your computer? All the leading programs have a spell checker included in them - type your post in there and copy into the reply box for the thread. It saves you twice - 1st, you don't have to worry about misspellings and 2nd, you don't have to worry about losing a post if the site hiccups and loses your post - you just need to re-paste it and click submit.

I'm not saying, "Poor me". I'm saying, "Some of y'all can be buttholes". :) It still goes on and on, not so much aginst me as much anymore, but aginst others. I cringe when I see you "initiate" a newbe into the group.
What I find smirkable is that the very same people who come off as being so much better than me because I misspelled a word or didn't catch a typo do it themselves sometimes too...and no one points it out to them, not even me (sometimes I really want to though). It's a form of bullying when instead of talking about the subject, you point and laugh at a common mistake.
Swinging back around to put this post on topic, I believe a lot of people think that they are the only non-retarted, non-moronic person in the world. Why else would someone try to convince me that "YOU WIN, CLICK HERE, (sucker)" is a ligit advert for a business that is worth my time. I'm not saying this about Jeff, because he doesn't create the ads. I'm saying this about the hardworking umm...ad designers.
And I guess that I should point out that I do not dislike some of the ads here, mainly the ones that do not insult my intelligence. If the ad tells you what they are selling before you click, it's fine. It's not fine when they promise a free PSP or i-pod, only to find out you must open a credit card, take 1,000 surveys, and eat spiders before you can be entered in a drawing to win said "prize".
...Or "Download this FREE! screensaver now!" which really means, "Download this ad-ware/spyware program onto your computer that will allow us to show you advertisements (that will umm...conviently pop-up whenever we want you to see them.) that are targeted to your interests, because we will watch everything that you do and find out as much as we can about you and your lifestyle...Oh yeah, and this cute little screensaver too." I decided a long time ago that I don't want to download any "FREE!" screensavers, so why should I download any of them now?
These ads are designed for people who are HUGE fans of The Jerry Springer Show, not me.
Arrogance is not the same as confidence; that's been a motto of mine for many years now.
'Sorry for the long post. I had a lot on my mind about this subject.
Oh yes I am. This site was the bulk of my revenue last year while I was writing my book. Since I started working for myself, this is all I have in between contracts. I still have not paid off the software licenses and some of the debt from the dark times of 2002, but yes, I make a little money.

crazed - he isn't trying to make money with this site(although I am sure he wouldn't complain if it did).
And for some reason, some people have a real problem with that. Apparently there are those that don't think you should be able to make a buck doing something you like.
