Well since he did not alter the image, and did not make these out to be his own. "Please note: AG.Net doesn't have the demo for RCT2, these images are from the sites that have released screenshots." Yeah that is pretty much a disclaimer that says they are not his.

Yes, and they're still copyrighted images. He doesn't have any right to post them. What he is doing is illegal, and I hope he gets sued. Heck, with DMCA crazy lawyers, they can throw your ass in jail these days.

Think about it, if we can see the images on your site, then we have no reason to purchase a subscription from IGN. Duh. IGN loses money because you steal from them. It doesn't mean jack if you say they're not yours, it's still stealing.

Jeff, those images are his to do with as he pleases, as long as he doesn't charge money for them. Is it illegal to show someone an article in a magazine you purchased? Or to walk down the street playing a pop tune from your boombox (never mind that many wish it was)? Yet these are examples of someone buying something and then distributing it for others so that they don't have buy it themselves.

No, but it WOULD be illegal to photocopy said magazine and hand it out on the street without permission, or scan it and put it on the web. THAT'S the functional equivalent of what's happening here.

To my way of thinking, what he is doing is just showing us the pictures. For any of us to copy or download them would be wrong. Now, it's so easy to do that that some would say that posting them is the same thing, but as I understand things, it is not. It might be a razor's edge of difference, but it's still a difference.

Take my word for it dude, I've been working with intellectual property rights since you were breast feeding. What he is doing violates IGN's copyright. Whether or not anyone charges for them is irrelevant.

Jeff, according to one of his posts, he paid for those images. That would give him the right to at least have them, which is where my whole argument starts from. If you have some proof that he lied, or if I misunderstood his statement, then my points are, well pointless. Please clear me up on this.

I think the speed thing is correct. Maybe that coaster had another lift with a higher drop somewhere which would give it more speed else. Like for example, the Beast at PKI. It has those two lifts but it's top speed isn't until it's race through the woods.

I know in the original RCT, it was messed up, but we don't have enough evidence to prove that it hasn't been fixed.

I guess I just wasn't clear as to what constitutes redistrubution on-line. Is your position, in fact, the one the law takes?

(Said in all seriousness, becasue when it comes ot the internet, the logic I use in common with all situations seems to fail me...)

PlayerPunk i dont think they would have two lift hills it doesnt seem like they would would put that in the game.I say the second drop is the same as the first drop or somthing of that matter since its on a mountain

Coming from someone who does design and layout for a printing company for a living, I can totally back-up that what he is doing is illegal. If we are going to use ANY image or ANY article that we do not own or have a right to use, we have to get written permission from the party that owns the copywrite. Period! It Is The Law! And it is a good one. So follow it.
