As far as I know, it's not even legal to spray/dump/otherwise deliver water onto a thrill ride in the state of Ohio unless it's actually labeled as a water ride (i.e. shoot the chutes), so I seriously doubt IJ's water effects are in place for any reason other than asthetics.
