I've been checking out Negative G lately (great site), and I got a few questions...

1. (If you dont know what I'm talking about, check the Knobels pages) What are some competitions at parks (like the Phal Phantom Phlyers)?

2.(This is more of a RCT question...) I'm about to start recreating some portable rides,(I went on a Looping Star like the one at Kentucky Grove once and liked it.) so what are some good ones? Include pictures if possible.

3.(The question everyone wants to know the answer to...)How do you make backyard coasters? I know it can be done cuz I've seen two, and I want to make one!

Thanks in advance.

3. You either got the welding machine or the hammer out, depending on what you perfer.

Am I really that shy?

The fact that you're asking how to make one here tells me you should let the idea go.

The engineering and manufacturing needed isn't something you can fake. The people who have made them knew what they were doing as far as construction goes.

Play it safe and don't try to make one.. You'll probably end up seeing at least a few more of your birthdays if you give it up now.

No,seriously. I know its expensive and alot of hard work, but it would be a future project.
it;s gonna take long, and i heard that that wooden back yard coaster cost upwards of $200,000.

as for your other questions...;

1) at Alton Towers they use to have a competition called the fiercesum 5, or something like that, where you rode all 5 extreme rides in one day ( i think it was nemesis, oblivion, corkscrew, blackhole + ripsaw)

2)as for portable rides... the german travelling Thriller is now Zonga@ SFMW. there are many other travelling coasters... but don't think i know of any pics

Nemesis: Inferno [6]

Not only is it very expensive, and demands massive amounts of time, but as Red Garder Rob said, you have to have a solid background in construction or engineering. It takes alot more than just welding a few pieces of steel together, or hammering a few boards together. You should probably save the coaster making for the parks.

I KNOW!!! Anything on my other questions?

By the way, I already made Thriller and posted it as Taz's Tornado. It was the 1st thing I did! But it was under my messed up name, so I might repost it now that I got everything sorted out.
